New London Mayor Sadiq Khan Slams Donald Trump's 'Ignorant' View of Islam LONDON— London Mayor Sadiq Khan on Tuesday slammed Donald Trump's "ignorant" view of Islam, after the Republican presidential contender suggested Khan could be exempted from a proposed temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States. Last year Trump proposed "a total and complete" ban on foreign Muslims entering the U.S. "until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on." Asked how that policy would affect London's first Muslim mayor, Trump told The New York Times that "there will always be exceptions." But Khan said "this isn't just about me — it's about my friends, my family and everyone who comes from a background similar to mine, anywhere in the world." "Donald Trump's ignorant view of Islam could make both our countries less safe — it risks alienating mainstream Muslims around the world and plays into the hands of the extremists," Khan said in a statement. Khan, the London-born son of Pakistani immigrants, was elected last week by a wide margin after a campaign that saw his Conservative rival Zac Goldsmith accuse him of having shared platforms with Islamic extremists. Khan, a former human rights lawyer and Labour Party lawmaker, accused Goldsmith of trying to frighten and divide voters in a multicultural city of 8.6 million people — more than 1 million of them Muslims. In his victory speech, Khan said the result marked the triumph of "hope over fear and unity over division." The mayor said Tuesday that Trump and people who agree with him "think that western liberal values are incompatible with mainstream Islam - London has proved him wrong." Trump said he was "happy to see" Khan's election and hoped "he does a good job." The mayor declined to lend Trump his support. "I'll be backing the Democratic candidate — Hillary Clinton, who I suspect it will be — and I hope that she trounces him," Khan told the BBC. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/new-london-mayor-sadiq-khan-slams-donald-trump-s-ignorant-n571456/ Related: Topic: Khan becomes first Muslim mayor of London http://m.mingle2.com/topic/show/481215/ , Topic: London’s Iconic Red Buses To Declare ‘Glory To Allah’ http://m.mingle2.com/topic/show/481504/ |

Prime Minister of Canada is another bozo that's on that list. He's spent $1.6 billion Canadian accomodating Muslims and only recently said the government will match Red Cross donations for the people of Fort McMurray, Alberta that have evacuated the largest fire in Canadian history.

Just another PION who thinks his opinion on OUR Presidential election matters... just ran his mouth & brought Trump more votes. Are you suggesting that a person does not have the right to respond when mentioned by one of your politicians? No, not at all. Granted I should of stated 'foreign political leaders', & not of assumed everyone knows what I am saying to the person I posted to. (Even though I listed a few world figures) We have a list of oversea haters. But.. We also have had them when Obama ran for office too. Sometimes it is annoying, that these leaders think they can influence the American public. Sometimes it is just comical. It all depends on their motives or if they think they will benefit. When some in England, threaten to ban Trump.. now that was funny. There is a thread out here 'Where To Sick The Crumpets'. The author described our national sentiment, which is, for the most part, ' we don't care'. America people themselves are not globalists. And have no desire to pay for, or save or police the world... No matter, which elite says , or does otherwise. |

So I assume you would be even-handed and condemn any American politician who tried to influence the UK public.
You would then have to condemn these two: Obama, who stated that the UK should stay in the EU, and Trump who stated the opposite. |

Why ask a new Mayor, with no experience what he thinks about something a guy who is running for President of USA, with no polical experience either.... What they think of each other's polical views? Too start trouble. To push an adgenda. The laws Trump was referring to were set in place, long ago, for our own protection. (And the USA, has banned counties & ideologies, in the past... So nothing new or illegal there). Maybe.. the new Mayor didn't read our history. But that is giving him the benefit of the doubt. Because, chances are, he just doesn't like it & his new power, (over one city ) has gone to his head. And he thinks he can change the world (or votes). Hhhaa.. No |
