* Are the Universities privately owned ?
* What is " SNAP " ?
* I read the post, but still do not understand the root problems.
(Northern brain freeze) laugh

snap is the program that provides food assistance for the economically disadvantaged

the schools can be private or public

mizzou is a pubic university but accepts private donations as well

* msharmony flowerforyou Thanks.

* I had a problem relating as our Universities are Government owned and free. As to SNAP, Canada students get forgivable loans for living costs, very helpful for single parents to upgrade.

** mizzou is a pubic university, so it is free to people in the State, or free to all U.S. citizens. I know ours make a killing on foreign students.

history repeating itself

the sixties saw white flight after schools that 'caved' into integration

now we see it with upper class flight after schools 'cave' into legitimate griefs of modern racism(once they became public anyway)

Today, the racists are found in greater numbers among these horrible student activists.

I wouldn't know,, there is enough racism to go around

but even if a abusive parent fights to keep children safe,, it doesn't change that children should be kept safe

and even if a 'hoorible' racist is fighting for justice for themselves or theirs,,, there should still be justice

huh
They screwed themselves.
Long term consequences for their own acts of injustice & 15 minutes of fame.

I agree, if the complaints had been acted upon before they caused national controversy

the school wouldn't have 'screwed' themselves

huh Complaints? Ooooh.. Whining.
I reiterate. They, the students destroyed their own present & future, with pettiness, lots of lies, (already proven & on other threads.. as you know & posted), & their own inability to cope as adults in the real world, because they live in a campus bubble (feeding off each other like a hate, shame & blame disease.. Mico-agression & Hypersensitivity) & wanted some fame. And they got it * Hi Spike Lee waving .... He waved goodbye, he completed his mission of destroying them for big bucks & his own fame/infamy . So he took his gasoline & went back to his mansion; probably laughing.

The administrators are guilty of pandering to adults, having a temper tantrum & kis@ing their a@s, & the media's blood thirst.

At least the students, who actually had class (status) & a decent upbringing & self esteem, & who think outside the box...didn't participate & bailed.
Of course some bailed because the drama party was over. Of they just couldn't cut the mustard.
But alas.. It is on their resume & permanent record, even all those who left without graduating.
Isn't like , from what I read that most transfered or that they will ever graduate from anywhere, or get another scholarship.

what record? the record that they went to the school? you think that will matter more than their degree and grades?... well, thats a whole other sort of discrimination,,,we will see if anyone is bold enough to try it,,,

similar to how ruby destroyed the future of children that werent welcome in the schools of the sixties

may have impacted the bigots in those schools, but the students who were finally treated fairly,,,,seem to have done just fine

whoa Being told 'NO', you didn't get the job, is NOT discrimination.
That's life.
Protesting is NOT being a team player, in the eyes of an employeer.
If you think their background/ history doesn't matter, in the REAL world.. Then you are deluding yourself.

CEO Writes Awesome Open Letter to Whiny College Kids, Says ‘The Only Safe Space is Your Home’ -

Chelsea Pullano

The CEO of The Silent Partner Marketing, Kyle Reyes, believes that todays youth needs a heavy slap to the face when it comes to coping with the real world. To help these children better understand the world they will be entering after college, he wrote a harsh open letter to them. Reyes’ letter reads:

1. The Business World Doesn’t Give A Damn About You

No, really – it’s true. You saw something on the internet that you found offensive? You’ve got the sniffles? Your boyfriend broke up with you? Well, that sucks. Deal with it. I expect you to get your work done on time. Hit traffic that made you late for the fourth time this week? You should have learned after the first time that you needed to leave your house early.

Listen, even the best bosses have their breaking points. Excuses might fly in college, but they’re NOT going to fly when we’re paying you to actually get things done.

The Only Safe Place Is Your Home

In the real world – and especially the business world – we’re going to challenge you. We’re going to push you. We’re going to demand that you consider other perspectives. We’re going to rip your ideas to shreds from time to time. And we’re going to insist that you play nicely with others to find ideas that actually work and implement them.

We’re going to get really pissed when you don’t deliver, and we’re going to get even more pissed when you cost us money because you weren’t willing to hustle hard enough to get the job done. And if you slack off enough, there’s no “bell curve” that’s going to save your *** from a big fat pink slip. Lucky for you there are enough people working in the unemployment office who’ve also been wussified by the system to make sure that even though you were fired for not showing up to work, you’ll probably still get to collect unemployment and sit on your ***.

There’s No Such Thing As “Free”

I get it. You’ve been told that money grows on trees, that education should be free for all and that everything in life should be handed to you on a silver platter.

But welcome to the big kids’ playground. You want that health insurance? It’s going to cost you. Oh, you don’t want it? That will cost you too. You want an apartment? A house? A car? Believe it or not, you need to actually come up with some money for that! Oh, and you can quit your whining about taxes. Because SOMEONE has to pay for all of that “free” stuff – and now it’s you, sucker.

If You Don’t Want To Be A Victim, Then Don’t Be

In college, any time your feelings were hurt, you were a victim. If you were challenged, the challenger was a “bigot” and you were the poor person who had their feelings hurt. Here in the real world, we expect you to be challenged and to understand that humility is just as important as bravado. Selflessness is more important that selfishness. The content of who you are as a person is more important than the color of your skin or your socio-economic background or your sex or your weight or your religious affiliation.

Success Is Hard Work

We’re not going to give you five breaks a day. You’re going to have to work nights and weekends from time to time. You want to make “the big bucks”? Then consider a nine-hour workday to be a part-time job. You’re most likely NOT going to graduate college and find a six-figure job. Hell, you’re going to be lucky if you find ANY job … and you should be grateful when you find it. Grateful … and prepared to work like a maniac to get ahead. Because in the real world, you don’t get a pass just because mommy and daddy are paying your bills.”

While some may think this is harsh, accepting these truths will genuinely help some of the millennials who are used to be protected at every turn make it after there’s nobody left to protect them. Effort does not necessarily equate success. The world is not fair. And what is truly unfair is teaching today’s generation that it will be.
