I was watching a talk show recently and they were talking about dogs and cats. People were saying that they prefer dogs because cats don't sleep with you at night. Really. I've had cats that loved to sleep in bed with me, and they purr. What is better than that?

I have 28 cats. Some indoor. Most outdoor.
Cats are like humans. Some of mine like to sleep with me. A few like napping on my lap during the day. People are the same way, meaning... we're ALL picky, when it comes to who we cuddle up with. |

She has her own futon and blanket. |

i don't believe in declawing....but I adopted a black rescue cat 2 years ago from a no-kill shelter. He had been there 5 long years. people went for the kittens and colored cats. He was on the window sill hiding, but i laid my head on his, and he started purring (like catinIdaho talks about purrs) and that was it. I went home, thought it over, then drove the 80 miles back next day and brought him home. He was in a huge clean room with 126 other cats, so he ignores the cat tree, he is NOT cuddly, but he likes to lay on the arm of my big chair when I watch TV. at 9 every night he meows, lays on the floor and waits to be combed. He's a great cat. .... couldn't do without him, and forgot to say he IS declawed, so could not have protected himself at all when dumped. he is safe now. :)

Good story, nature lady. I think a lot of people like to adopt younger pets and I've heard that black cats are not very popular in shelters. I think people see them as bad luck, but I don't believe that. My sister had an all black cat for many years and he was great. I read that declawing is painful to the cat, so people should rethink that. It's nice to hear about your cat rescue, nature lady.

I didn't declaw my cat. She scratched me a few times, just playing.
She doesn't tear up furniture either. She has a Scatcher and likes to use it often. I have seen Digs that naw up furniture. |

Hi Toody. I'm used to playing with cats. That's how cats play. I have a few scars.

Hi there.
what about, i'm sleeping and one of my cat is in the mood of playing, like super early in the morning. So he starts playing either with my hand or my feet. Even if I cover them doesn't make any difference. |
