I think a long-distance relationship can last for as long as the 'two' capitalise on communication.

Does the long distance relationship last long or forever guyz what do you think.. It did ended in marriage for a friend of mine. Prior to that, I never used to believe it ever will. I guess its just about finding the right person. |

An ldr can indeed last for a while but unless the distance closes it will never be anything other than a friendship.

Yeah, if you want to try to get all scientific about it, you can.
Communications good, usually. Of course, if all that gets communicated is how much one wished the other one was around more, or something negative, then maybe less is better. I think in general, that some sort of equation between expectations and what actually happens, is what really makes things work or not. The relationships of any kind that I've seen last, were the ones where the people involved followed a sort of policy of looking at what was, and deciding to go with that. All the ones that fell apart, were the ones where one or both people decided "reality isn't supposed to be like THIS!" |

Both parties have to make a plan on meeting and way to communicate regularly. Eventually, one person must relocate to be closer.

It can as long as the communication is there, but you have to eventually get together, there has to be a plan to relocate, otherwise its just words on a screen.

Communication is important but so is trust.
I do wonder though do they loose interest quickly because there's very little physical connection? |

Its hard in some ways as in really. You have to trust each other evryday. but then, as long as ur contacts with him/her is really strong then u guys relatioship will be longer...

Long distance relationship do not matter.
True love has no boundaries and limits. If two persons love each other wholeheartedly and are serious regarding their relationship, i'm sure that they will make it in the end. When it comes to fall somebody one will settle down with in the future, loyalty, truth, honesty will be needed in order for both partners to keep up regardless of the distance between them. |

I don't think it works. Not only does distance make communication harder but leaves too much room for interpretation for what the other is "doing". I think distance just breeds paranoia and/or allows too much time for a person to get comfortable in a life without the other around.
