Topic: How about getting Zuckered in ... | |
---|---|
As a fellow Mingler once accused me of trying to scam him
here's the difference between scamming & Zuckering in 1. Our man in India.. Oct, 2015 His mission is: " to connect over a billion people who currently don’t have access, a move that could provide health information as well access to jobs." - Indian Express As per Zuckerberg's proposal to Indian government, every Indian would get free basic net services - basic could mean news feed, health info; job info. For additional website access / content, like Wiki(?) there would be a fee. 2. The 'Work from Home' ad that is doing the rounds.. Ok, it's not from Facebook but if one looks up the ad: one has to put down $80 for the 'kit' and then start earning $300 per day; working 2 hours / day. So scams as we know - it's cash upfront In Zuckerberg's proposal - no cash upfront. It's free. Any one interested to collaborate? |

No such thing as free. Crap like "every Indian would get free basic net services" either means "free in the beginning before we really start charging you," or, "don't worry, we'll make someone you don't like or care about pay for it until you get addicted to it and it becomes just taken for granted as a part of your life, then we'll start using it as a hostage, tool, or threat so you'll give up control and freedom of your own life rather than lose it or change." There is no difference between a scam and any other type of business except the acceptable amount of fraud allowed and the consequences for how much fraud you use. No different than allowing so many parts per million of fecal matter or bug parts in ketchup. Not to mention different governments having different definitions of what constitutes fraud. There is no purity or altruism. It's not like one business is the "good" and "honorable" guy and the scammers are the "bad" and "dishonorable" guys. No matter the business or scam they both want you to: 1. Value what they're selling more than you value what you would give up to get it. 2. Perceive what they sell as being something you need. |

Well balanced point of view. a first, seeing a ppm example used to such terrific effect. By the way the Indian government didn't buy into Z's plans. |

In Zuckerberg's proposal - no cash upfront. It's free. So he is offering Internet service? Or is he offering FB? |

There is a lot on YouTube AGAINST project LOON Granted it connects a lot of Indian people who would not otherwise have access to the web. But it also wants to connect the planet to ONE central web. Hence the controversy. |
