and also in regards to Steve Irwin...'tempting fate '
Every day we live ... we raise our chances for something to happen.. The more we do something the higher the odds are of us getting hurt by the hazards of that behavior... it's a numbers game... every time loggers go out on their jobs they run the risk of getting hurt.... occupational hazards... So Are you going to say bad things about someone cause he had the bravery to tackle something not many other people would ? are you going to critcize him for following his heart? Are you going to also remind all of the people who lost their lives because of the high risks of their jobs...? Are you also going to tell my Fiance that he shouldn't have gone to work Ever....? because thirty years into his career ... he was going to fall from the top of the load of lumber off the top of a three pallet high fully loaded flat bed semi-truck suffer massive head injury & die two weeks later? Am I going to quit riding my beloved bike because I fell twice this summer or because i could get hit by a car? No...No.... a thousand times....NO |

Watching his shows back in high school (omg I'm old) showed me what I wanted to be when I graduated. I could see me diving on the back of a croc so that no sedatives were induced, and I could see myself trying to mow grass inside the zoo and get harassed by various animals.
I cried when he died, he was, and still is the person I look up to in the way of conservation. |

accepted wholeheartedly I just want you all to know that some of us really do care even though so many people don't I watched the croc hunter for years with my grandson and even saw the episodes of Terri in the hospital with the dramatic birth of their children... A lot of us took the Irwins into our homes as "Family.." i love you and thank you so much |

okay i read the posts and this is what i have to ask.
just exactly how many people have you read of recently getting killed by swimming with stingrays and having them stab you in the heart with their tail? this was a tragedy..... call it accident, fate, or premeditated. maybe he aggravated the sting ray. who will ever know. the fact is the man is dead. he leaves his children and wife behind to follow in his very big footsteps as animal evangelists of sorts. personally, i am a better person for seeing steve irwin, and his remarkable things he did in such a short life. just like anna nicole smith, will we ever really know what happened. does it matter? he is dead and so is she. let them rest now. |

I used to have a pet american alligator (the less aggressive of all alligators and crocs).. Had it for about 15 years but then had to put him down due to some health issues (rotting teeth, loss of appetite).. I miss him alot and had nightmares of his ending for weeks.. Poor lil guy, just wish there was something the doctors couldve done..
But I drink to him now and forever! cheers buddy! |

to the starter of this thread...
oh, and as far as the episode with his newborn son .. i saw the behind the scenes photography of that whole thing There was no way on earth that Steve Irwin would run the risk of having his child hurt.. he had wayyyyyyyyyy more people and back-up than you obviously have any conception of ..... |
