i agree you never know who it is in those pics. and im here to have fun and make friends and if i fall in love even better but im not trying to hard, i would love to find that special someone but sometimes when u least expect it, thats when everything falls into place.

While I have to agree with everything tom said it's a simple truth that if you're here to find dates or even just make friends without a picture you reduce your chances considerably.

For me I'm not that concerned with what someone looks like, but you can't escape the feeling that if someone doesn't post a picture there is a good chance they may be very insecure about themselves. That insecurity is very unattractive to me, far more than any picture could make them seem. I mean just as tom suggested, most anyone can manage a picture that makes them look good. You often don't know from the pic what someone really looks like, but it's a face to talk to and that you can picture in your mind when you don't see it. That's it's use and it's the reason anyone who doesn't post one is probably making a mistake if there here for positive interaction of any kind.

I like stealing other people's pictures, they look better than I do.

I think it's just as bad when the only pic is of 2 or 3 or more people and they never bother to tell you which one (if any) the profile belongs to. "Test your psychic powers....see if you can guess...."

No thanks.

But then, I have used pics of llamas and a paramecium and a tape dispenser so I probably shouldn't say anything....

A picture doesn t make who the person is. Alot of people don t have pictures but their nice and have a sense of humor.

For me really good text in the profile can make up for the lack of a picture. I do try to take the time to read profiles whether there's a picture or not, but that's just me. Many dont, but to suggest that if someone passes your profile because you lack a picture says anything definitive about them or that they aren't right for you, is not realistic. I just too easy to move on to one of the hundreds of other profiles that do have pictures for it to mean anything at all.

I get emails from men and women telling me my pics, and I quote, "RAWK"!!!! If I were to be actively looking for a date, I would probably put up my pic of my face, but I am not rushing anything...

No one has to post a pic and I respect that. And yea I'm sure there is alot a reasons why some don't..Heck I think I take really crappy pics but hey you like it or ya don't...What you see is what you get..Just because you/I don't think a person is attractive doesn't mean You/I can't be friends. who knows even best friends...

I actually just haven't bothered to put a good picture up yet...

Then again, I'm not really here with the goal of dating as much as just getting to meet people online. If I were here for dating then, yeah I would agree having a decent picture up is important to a larger degree.

I guess it just boils down to: it doesn't matter to me if anyone else has a picture up. Likewise, it's not a priority for me personally.

But I do have to say - there are some beautiful looking women here and I really don't mind seeing their pictures. ;D
