Everyone has varying responses to this, but how long must you chat with someone before meeting them in person?

When she starts talking about how horny she is, then it is time to meet her.

I guess a lot depends on how far apart you both live. I believe you need to chat long enough until you are both feeling comfortable with the idea of meeting up. A Skype type video call is probably a good idea as well before finally deciding to meet. If they live very far from you, I think it will require a lot of chatting to learn more about each other, spending a lot more time and effort, because it's not as easy to meet them as meeting someone in your hometown.

As soon as their criminal record check comes back from the FBI...yup..

I "must" chat with them long enough to figure out if I want to meet them face to face and attempt to honestly present myself in a way that makes them want to meet me face to face.

The more simple and honest with yourself is your goal (date, sex, love), the less you "must" chat with someone.

Chat long enough to be sure they aren't just a scammer (in which case they'll NEVER be able to meet).

There's no certain amount of time or number of emails back and forth. The only determination is when the people feel comfortable to want to meet, and then can make plans to meet when it's feasible for both parties.

Depends on the distance.
If she lives within 50 miles,
a meet by the first weekend.

100 -250 miles, a meet within two or three weeks.

In excess of 250 miles, a meet by whenever she can travel to me.

I like the idea of giving it NO LESS than a month before meeting face to face. I personally AM NOT interested in meeting anyone who is unable or unwilling to sustain interest in our interactions for at least a month. And I also will never agree to a first date until we had skyped several times to get some sense of if the chemistry has potential.

I realise how picky that sounds but I have been in the chatsite world long enough to know that it is a very fickle world with very short attention spans . I want to avoid wasting my time with people who are playing the field
