It's sad how easily he makes those in power in the free nations of the west, under US influence, look like the villians these days! i hear all this babble about how bad he is, but where is anything showing it? he has over a 90% approval rating, he hasn't invaded any countries, Crimea wanted to be under the Russian umbrella, and turned Russia into a free trade capitalist system... because he isn't gay friendly? is that why you're knocking him without any evidence showing what a villain he is? please show me why he's such a villain.. |

Putin is a dark star, former (18 years) KGB, and is suspected in the deaths of many of his adversaries and any who cross him. A villian indeed, and a scoundrel for his dirty tricks to increase his own wealth in the new Russia. It doesn't make him a bad man, he has done a lot for his country but has imposed hardships on his people (imposed by the west mostly) for his policies. He has not embraced the western influences or its banks but I give him credit for that. |

It's also more despotic than democratic, too. Hence the ability to sell a lie version of their governments' "accomplishments" to suckers in the US. really? do really think the government run media is really going to say anything very positive about Russia? the government needs the people to fear something so they can install programs like the patriot act and other things to "keep us safe"... I was referring to the Russian media, who are in turn feeding ours. You are obviously one of those who are being fooled by the purely positive spin on what Russia under Putin has been doing, hence your admiration for him. Our media would be praising Putin had Bush still been in office, but your sacred cow Obama is above reproach. |
