Obama Meets with Black Lives Matter But Skips Scalia Funeral?

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will visit the Supreme Court Friday to pay their respects as Justice Antonin Scalia lies in repose but won't attend Scalia's funeral.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Wednesday that Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden will attend the funeral on Saturday at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.

Scalia died on Saturday at age 79. He joined the court in 1986 and was its longest-serving justice.

Former Chief Justice William Rehnquist, who died in 2005, was the last member of the high court to lie in repose.

Obama has said he will nominate a replacement for Scalia with "plenty of time" for the Senate to act.

Let's hope Obama's snub of Scalia's funeral is not political. He will, however, have time to meet with a civil rights contingent that will include DeRay McKesson, a Black Lives Matter activist who is running for Baltimore mayor and other BLM activists. Judge for yourself.

Presidents don’t always attend a Supreme Court Justice’s funeral. According to NBC News, only three out of the past seven Supreme Court justice funerals were attended by the President. When Bill Clinton was President, he attended two Supreme Court Justice funerals, but did not attend three others. He was present at former Chief Justice Warren E. Burger’s and Justice William Brennan’s funerals. He did not attend Justices Harry Blackmun or Lewis F. Powell Jr.’s funerals, or Justice Thurgood Marshall’s. Former Vice President Al Gore did attend Marshall’s funeral. Former President George W. Bush did not attend Justice Byron White’s funeral.

However, attending a sitting Justice’s funeral is viewed by some as being completely different in significance. According to Townhall, this may be the first time in the last 65 years that a current president skipped the funeral of a sitting Justice, although early records are not completely clear. Scalia is the only justice to have died in office since Chief Justice William Rehnquist, who passed away in 2005. Bush attended Rehnquist’s funeral and said the eulogy. When Chief Justice Fred M. Vinson died in 1953, Dwight D. Eisenhower was photographed at his funeral.

Historically, Presidents’ decisions on attending Justices’ funerals only sometimes seem to be connected to their political leanings. Burger was known to be a conservative, but his court made some liberal decisions while he was Chief Justice, and Clinton, a Democrat, attended his funeral but did not attend the funeral of Democrat Thurgood Marshall, for example. Blackmun was a Republican who became one of the most liberal justices on the Court, and neither Clinton nor Gore attended his funeral either. There doesn’t seem to be a clear pattern as far as Presidents’ decisions about whether or not to attend a Supreme Court Justice’s funeral.

I am certainly no expert on our country's laws and I certainly do not like the clown in the white house. But unless I am mistaken the president must nominate a new judge and the congress must vote on it.

That is the law.

Regardless of how much time is left on the Presidents term or regardless of what the congress (and people) think of it.

You can't change the rules in the middle of the game.


You can delay the game indefinitely.

People may wonder why jars of applesauce, heads of broccoli, and fortune cookies have been left amidst bouquets of flowers Friday in a makeshift memorial to Justice Antonin Scalia in front of the Supreme Court.

These items are in tribute to some of the metaphors the late justice chose to make legal points in some of his most recent, renowned dissenting opinions.

The applesauce reference came from his dissent in last year’s King v. Burwell, challenging the federal government’s authority to pay tax subsidies to those who purchased their healthcare through the federal healthcare.gov exchange.

The Affordable Care Act legislation only made provision for payment through exchanges established by the states, and Scalia argued that only Congress, not the executive branch, could change the law to allow money from the Treasury to be spent in a different fashion.

Going after the reasoning of the majority opinion, the justice wrote, “The Court claims that the Act must equate federal and state establishment of Exchanges when it defines a qualified individual as someone who (among other things) lives in the ‘State that established the Exchange.’ Otherwise, the Court says, there would be no qualified individuals on federal Exchanges…Pure applesauce.”

The broccoli reference also relates to Obamacare, but stems (no pun intended) from the original case challenging the constitutionality of the law in 2012. Scalia pressed an Obama administration attorney during oral arguments wondering if the federal government can force Americans to buy health insurance (even if they do not want it), then where would the limits of such an newly found authority end.

“Could you define the market — everybody has to buy food sooner or later, so you define the market as food, therefore, everybody is in the market; therefore, you can make people buy broccoli,” the justice wondered.

Finally, Scalia likened the majority’s existential reasoning in last summer’s Obergefell v. Hodges, a 5-4 decision redefining marriage to include same-sex couples, similar to the intellectual rigor one might find inside a fortune cookie.

“If, even as the price to be paid for a fifth vote, I ever joined an opinion for the Court that began: ‘The Constitution promises liberty to all within its reach, a liberty that includes certain specific rights that allow persons, within a lawful realm, to define and express their identity,’ I would hide my head in a bag,” the originalist wrote in his dissent. Scalia pointed out that if the court was going to use its own “reasoned judgment” to create rights out of whole cloth, the justices are no longer acting as judges, but lawmakers.

He concluded, “The Supreme Court of the United States has descended from the disciplined legal reasoning of John Marshall and Joseph Story to the mystical aphorisms of the fortune cookie.”

SHOCK: The Picture of 2 Men That Some Say Proves Scalia Was MURDERED

The sudden death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia — and the fact the Obama administration is trying to take full advantage of the situation — has led many to believe that some sort of malice is afoot in the hinterlands of Texas.

Conspiracy theorists have been perhaps most alarmed by two pictures showing two men together. One of the men in the photo below, on the left, is John Poindexter, the man who owns the ranch where Justice Scalia died.

You may perhaps recognize the one on the right.

In addition to owning the Cibolo Creek Ranch, Poindexter was a major donor to the Democrat Party, something that will always get the attention of the commander in chief. DC Whispers, which obtained these photos, remarked that Poindexter was being honored for his service in Vietnam.

However, the coincidence has many people alarmed, particularly since Poindexter was the man who found Scalia’s body.

On his Monday show, conservative radio host Michael Savage raised questions over the particulars of Scalia’s death and said further investigation was needed.

“We need a Warren Commission-like federal investigation,” Savage said, referencing the congressional commission that investigated the assassination of John F. Kennedy. “This is serious business.”

““There was no medical examiner present. There was no one who declared the death who was there. It was done by telephone from a U.S. Marshal appointed by Obama himself,” Savage continued. He elaborated on this in a piece he wrote for his website.

“The question is, is it a conspiracy theory to ask questions that are so obviously in need of answer, or is it just common-sense,” Savage asked. “And where is the common-sense both in the press and the Republican Party(?)”

Savage also asked what would happen if Justice Ginsburg had died and Donald Trump were the president.

“Do you think the left would be screaming that Donald Trump would have no right to appoint anyone to the Supreme Court? Do you think they would be demanding an autopsy and a full federal investigation?” Savage wrote.

Whatever the situation, it’s certainly the latest strange development in a death which has raised more questions than it has provided answers.

Adding to the layers of mystery that shrouded the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is a new report that says Scalia was in the company of members of a worldwide exclusive society of hunters gathered at the Texas resort ranch where Scalia died.

The group is known as the International Order of St. Hubertus, which has existed since the 1600s. Scalia died Feb. 13 at the West Texas ranch, without an autopsy. He was declared dead by a local official who never viewed the body.

“Cibolo Creek Ranch owner John Poindexter and C. Allen Foster, a prominent Washington lawyer who traveled to the ranch with Scalia by private plane, hold leadership positions within the Order,” the Post reported.

There was no clear indication of official association between Scalia and the society.

“There is nothing I can add to your observation that among my many guests at Cibolo Creek Ranch over the years some members of the International Order of St. Hubertus have been numbered,” Poindexter told the Post in an email. “I am aware of no connection between that organization and Justice Scalia.”

The order’s name is in honor of Hubert, the patron saint of hunters and fishermen. It is a worldwide all-male organization.

The Post also released an incident report from Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez about what he found at the ranch where Scalia died.

Scalia, who the report said was lying on three pillows “to elevate his head” was found face up on his bed. Scalia’s sheets “were still in the creased position from that day’s room service, indicating that there was no struggle involved,” the report said. The top pillowcase “appeared to have shifted at some point in the night due to the weight of his pillow, causing the pillow case to slide down and cover his eyes,” the report said, adding that the pillow “did not seem to have inhibited Scalia’s breathing.”

A breathing apparatus was on the table by the bed, but was turned off, the report said.

And you say you've taken the temperature of Scalia's body, and found that it demonstrates a tremendous scientific anomaly by requiring WEEKS to have cooled down at all? That would suggest he was "killed" by intense radiation, perhaps by his having ingested several pounds of fissionable material. Perhaps you think he ate an atomic bomb?
