Only if it effects an agenda...cases take MONTHS or even longer to come before the SC....a few more wouldnt hurt...hey, "ya'll" might even have a socialist in office then laugh

But go ahead and nominate someone...Im suuuuuuuuuure theyll pass muster....

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia dead at 79 surprised

By Adario Strange

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, 79, has been found dead from natural causes at the Cibolo Creek Ranch resort in West Texas.

There are currently few details, and Scalia's death has not been confirmed by the U.S. government or Scalia's family. However, the report claims that Scalia arrived at the resort on Friday, attended a party and then failed to show up for breakfast the next morning.

The report from the San Antonio Express-News also notes that the U.S. Marshal Service, the FBI and the Presidio County sheriff are all investigating the incident.

What a terrible loss. He was one of the finest Justices in the history of the court. Terrible, just terrible.

So I guess we'll get to find out what sort of Justice the Obama administration will nominate after all.

Well Obama hasn't kept secret the fact that he wants to be on the Supreme Court he will probably just appoint himself..... Oh wait, an Associate Justice is beneath a narcissist like Barry. He would want to be Chief Justice.

Precisely. Will he nominate a left-wing radical? A moderate? Unlikely it will be a Radical Right winger. But since his Presidency has upset pretty much every faction, who knows?

My only prediction: no matter who he nominates, the right wing and other anti-Obama people will CLAIM that the judge in question is a left-wing liberal. Rather like the way that the Left always CLAIMED that Republican Presidents' nominees, were secret neo-nazi's.

Well he has already nominated two leftist radicals I don't see him breaking with tradition.

If Obama has one single ounce of "America" in him, he will allow the American people to nominate the next justice.....by allowing whoever the American people elect the next president to nominate the next justice....

....I wont hold my breath. Btw, that election just got huge....especially if the Senate stalls any Obama appointee.

On a side note...if you wanna buy an AR, i suggest doing it now....

Honestly, I don't think the court can go that long without a justice replaced. Were talking a little less then a year until the next President is in office then a good couple months after that for nomination, confirmation hearings and what not.

Our only hope is if Congress and the Senate block any of his choices until the election.

He's already got a Chief-Justice at his beck and call, and so will the next POTUS if it is a DEM!

Age has nothing to do with this. The man was lucid & brilliant as always.
Perhaps TOO lucid, for the Progressives. Who kept saying (& trying to convince people & the media), that "The Constitution is fluid, forever growing & changing"
LIES. It was written NOT to be be altered in anyway. That is what made us great & hated & envied & desired.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia ,was The Constitutional glue holding the other Supremes together.
In the 3rd week of January he gave a speech saying "The Constitution is dead, dead, dead". (Which isn't his entire quote). He was NOT saying it is outdated. He was saying, it is NOT a living thing, (fluid, growing, changing.) Blah blah blah.. Libtard b@llshit.

THREE weeks later he is dead with ..

T"he U.S. Marshals Service is helping to arrange for his body to be returned, an official told CNN, not to investigate his death." They were already present because marshals sometimes help supplement security for traveling justices"
CNN.

The entire country should be sh@ting bricks!

The, so called ' Progressives ' can curse themselves out, that they sold out...

Sad, sad day.. sad2

You are mistaken. Delay would mean that the court could not come to any decisions about anything until next year. That would be irresponsible in the extreme.

The Supreme Court has been acting against the rights of America's people. They act as though they work for some other country or influence. Iresponsible, nope.

And "irresponsible in the extreme"? What is irresponsible about letting the American people elect the next person to apppoint the next justice? Dont answer, I already know your ideology.

You don't know anything of the kind. In fact, as usual, you are refusing to read what I actually say, and are simply reacting to my pointing out your and other peoples' errors, by ASSUMING things about me that I never said at all. This is how you COME to be so mistaken about the real world to begin with.

Here is Article 1, section 2, of the ACTUAL Constitution, which the Republicans keep PRETENDING to be following, but which they actually ignore, or even oppose outright:

Section 2.

The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.

Please note that it does NOT say "whoever is President shall wait when there is a vacancy, until their opponents elect someone else, before dealing with the vacancy."

You might notice in an unrelated way, how it also points out how the Republicans lied and attacked the Constitution last year, by interfering directly with the Presidents requirement to make treaties, too.

Anyway.

When you are ready to read what things ACTUALLY SAY, and stop making accusations based on how upset you are with having your errors pointed out, come back and post something factual.
