The problem your cat is most likely suffering from is old age but the rocking could suggest a balancing difficulty. Maybe a problem with the inner ear or an easily sorted deficiency of some kind. It is worth trying to see how well the cat balances when it needs to, for example when jumping or walking along fences. If the balance seems ok under pressure then it probably is just an age thing but still worth contacting a vet.

lol, i forgot to add pmsl... as others have said haha, it isnt exactly unatural for cats to sway or rock, there might not be a problem.

I agree with gypsy .. check him for worms.. CUD be a sign of that just STARTin.. at least that was my FIRST instinct when I read your post.. had cats ALL my life... have 2 now.. good luck!! flowerforyou
