There are a lot of people with a lot of different attitudes. Just the right/wrong words and they disappear. All depends on what they are looking for I guess.

so... ask normal questions... and if they stop responding... move on

I agree with Mr. T | |

You have to be grateful that the person who asked you a lot of weird questions moves on. The other night when I was online a guy (his profile states he lives in my city but I know absolutely nothing about him) sent an IM to me and immediately asked me for my phone number. I told him that I really wasn't willing to give out my phone number. I told him that if phone talk was important to him that he was welcome to give me his number and that I would call him later. I don't feel safe to just hand out my phone number like that. He immediately became insulting and accused ME of playing games.
How lame! | |

depends on what your definition of weird is..i ask the routine questions. there are a lot of different people online- just like if you went to a bar or somewhere else- all kinds. it is easier to just "move on" when you do not have anything invested in the person online except a few questions, emails, phone calls, etc.

i agree with joyce....and i also think there are pro's and con's to it like everything else. I like the fact that u can take your time getting to know someone online and it doesnt feel as pressured as when u meet someone in person. But in the same token its hard to really know if your compatible until u do meet...
so its nice to have friends here and take your time getting to know ppl and when u find a special person take it slow and see where it goes.

      Weird questions like:
What is your name? What is your quest? What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

It depends what you consider weird. I usually don't stop talking to someone, unless they ask questions about sizes of body parts or if they insist no meeting right away. If someone emails me with a short one line email, I don't usually respond unless I check out the profile and there's some substance there. If you are gonna take the time to email someone atleast read their profile and ask a question or comment on something they have written.
