Could someone tell me what the difference is between these two?
Google only has an example on grating / jarring sounds.

But what about "it feels jarring" and "It feels grating".

What's the difference?

Jarring means to be shaken, rattled, agitated, a sudden impact.
Grating may mean something feels abrasive, rough.

Jarring is something sudden, and startling. It leaves you feeling kind of rattled. Grating is something that gets on your nerves, and bothers you a lot. It’s not sudden, or startilng, but it can still make you cringe.
