BURNS, Oregon - The leader of an armed group that has occupied a national wildlife refuge in Oregon for more than three weeks has been arrested, a law enforcement official tells CBS News.
The FBI said authorities arrested Ammon Bundy, 40, his brother Ryan Bundy, 43, Brian Cavalier, 44, Shawna Cox, 59, and Ryan Payne, 32, during a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 395. Authorities said another person, Joseph Donald O'Shaughnessy, 45, was arrested in Burns. |

So that leaves a bunch of armed militia types without those who have kept it peaceful so far..... That was smart!

So what was accomplished by these arrests? Now a leaderless armed militia and families with small children still remain at the refuge, but those who have kept it peaceful to this point are no longer in control of the group. So a few feds got to soil their linens, but what did it realy accomplish? Perhaps the meeting they were going to would have had a peaceful end to the standoff, but now the feds have pretty much upset that apple cart. They have taken control of the narrative. Perhaps that was their plan..... to silence the voice of peaceful opposition so they can pull another Waco or Ruby Ridge. Of course those arrested will take the blame for such actions as the feds do what they do best.... silence by force of arms and media control of the narrative. |

Actually one of the brothers was killed in the stand off Oregon Standoff: 1 Dead, 1 Wounded As Feds Arrest Ammon Bundy and Others Uh, no. The man who died was Robert "LaVoy" Finicum. |
