I am posying this for a dear friend, suposed have done it 2 days ago, but got waylaid sorry Miss V.

Hope I can remember it all, from the 70s, & I still have that 60's & 70s thing goin' on ( FLASHBACKS) OK here goes

WILD WOOD WEED

Now the wildwood flower is a ol' county classic that ha gained a whole new popularity. Not the song, but the flower's doin' real good.

The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm & we never new what it was called.
Some say it's a flower, some say it's a weed. I never gave it much thought.

One day when me & my brother were out in the field I reached down for a weed to chew on. Things got fuzzy & things got blury , then everthing was gone.

When I came to, my brother said "What's wrong with your eyes?" I said "I don't know I was chewin' on a weed" He said " Let me give a try."

Spent most that day & all that night tryin' to find my brother Bill. Finaly caught up with him 'bout 6 0'clock next mornin'

Naked sittin' on a windmill, said "He flew up there" I had to fly up & get him down, he's 'bout 1/2 crazy.

Well my brother & me could see where there might jus' be a need, so we hoe'd & we rowed & had a whole new crop of weeds.

1 day these fellas from Washin'ton came by & spy'd us & turned white as a sheet. They dug & they burned & they burned & they dug & killed all our cute little weeds.

Well all good things must come to an end & same as the wild wood weed.

We jus' smiled & waved YA'LL COME BACK NOW YA HEAR!!
