Well... it might not be as silly a quest as it seems...
Not everyone is looking for love, many are looking for status, I think esp the rich(er) ones.

Just look at the rich and famous. Do you ever see any of them marrying someone fat and ugly?
The men usually swap wives like they're socks, almost always for a younger, better looking version. Often these women aren't famous/rich themselves. Sometimes they're simply waitresses. And they all claim it is true love.
True love my @$$.

So finding a rich man willing to marry shouldn't be that hard.
