whats your idea of dads, fathers, fathering? how can we reach out and be involved with these important people? do you think they have anything to teach us?

In my opinion(and experience) dads become very obnoxious and unreliable when any of their parental involvement (other than their child's conception) is fueled by barbaric/primal bouts of testosterone.

Other than that I think fathers are a very important (and often times overlooked) resource in person's life at any age.

We can reach out to to them through simple gestures that will show them how wonderful they are such: asking for advice from them, listening to their views on life with a careful ear, and just being there for them when they need us.

They have plenty o teach us, I dont know where to start with that. lol.

I'm a single dad and my son is the most important ting in my life...nothing else even comes close...saddly a lot of loser men out there give dads a bad name...my own included...but I promised my son whan he was born that I would alays be there for him...and I damn well mean it.

You can't base fatherhood on a stereo type phylosophy. Not all fathers are the same as others are. Resonsibility, careing, moral attitude and the willing to talk with your children is the definition of a good father. There are dads that have none of these qualitys and others that disown even wanting to be a father.Vardlokkur is 100% right,we are percieved in a bad way because of what society sees as a general, fathers don't care.I do and thats what is important to me and my children.
