As for the op here, that was very well worded, and very much on target. It is simply ridiculous to blame the site for one's relationship, or lack thereof. The site has afforded people a chance to meet thousands of potential matches. This site, nor any other can guarantee success. This is not wal mart. People are not like inanimate objects. There are no guaranties or warranties, and they don't come in a box with directions. Getting to know them, understand and appreciate them is entirely the responsibility of the member.

I believe you are right on all counts. People should keep their expectations to a real level. JSh or any other site will not hand you the person of your dreams on a platter with a rose in their mouth. One has to go out and be available and open to meeting people and 9 out of 10 will not be compatible. That is just the way it is "everyone is not for everyone" but that is not a personal attack on a person. Blaming the site is ludicrous. Now I have been to sites that seem to breed the leches and I just do not go back there. This is one that has so far not been that way. I have actually enjoyed my short time here and expect to spend a long time here. If ya'll don't send me home, just kidding.bigsmile

I couldn't put it better, Lex, indeed many people turn up on dating sites not only with that inevitable chip on shoulder but with a whole baggage... dating sites have a peculiar quality, with wrong attitude they react adversely to inflate the baggage into a Zeppelin... yeah, Zeppelin cah get you fly high, but there's problem, you know, we need our Perfects on earth...

Puffins, if you're still around, may I ask you whether your tattoo is a real one... I have a problem with my youngest daughter, she's so rebellious, and her rebellious energy finds outlet in serial tattooing... hmmmm, don't know what to do about that...

When you start crunching the numbers it gets scary. Let's see we might match with 1 out of 100 people we meet. Then once we finally meet that special person, we hope things work out. Then another statistic I read said that 96 percent of the time the women will initiate the break up. I guess it is better not to even think about this stuff and just try to have fun.

Looking4U, by your scary arithmetic it sounds as if humanity is facing extiction due to unbridgeable chasm between the sexes... watching through the window, I observe population explosion..

Yes, it is amazing that people still end up hooking up after the poor odds. I think the problem is as we get older we get wiser. I would think the 20 year olds have it easier than the 50 year olds.

Papa...

Well, at 49 years old, I don't consider what I DO...or don't do to my body to be...in your own words...rebellious at all.

It's my CHOICE, and NO...I didn't need anyone's permission. You are clearly NOT my father....

Thanks, Puffins, for the general advice, and thanks for the gorgeous sight... I decided to give up my Papa identity, with such a rebellious daughter, and I join the mainstream as an Idealist... I might not like the rebelliousness of my daughters (though I'm a tolerant and spoiling Papa), but I'm hooked on rebellious ladies which do not happen to be my daughters...
