Topic: what's the rush? | |
---|---|
This online dating thing is confusing me a little bit. Its hard to know when to take it to the next level and meet...i know u need to get to know the person and talk a lot first and im in no rush to meet someone right away, but i also feel like i would need a push in order to do it
does anyone have any input on this? |

Good question.

When it just feels right.
You will know it that is. |

After you feel COMPLETELY comfortable with the person then meet in public..Start off with a coffee date..That way, if needed, you can leave when the cup is empty..so to speak
I find the coffee date is less stressful also...casual attire and atmosphere.. Good luck and be safe out there!! |

Lets see get a couple of personal refrences, professional refrences, and a criminal background check......oh and make sure he passes a drug test and is cleared from all STDs by a medical exame j/k.....but I totally know where you are coming from.....kind of scary huh?

You know, I don't think there can ever really be a formula. I've met people after as little as one week, and there was one where we waited almost a whole year even though we lived 20 minutes apart. And that one was the best girlfriend I ever had. So you never know.
I like what Joyce said, she's pretty smart! |

Everyone wants to be my friend
but nobody wants to meet me in person. |

I met someone off of here once. We started talking in Feb and we talked every single day. Of course we talked on the phone for hours..then he decided to fly here. That was in April..so it was about 2 months after we started talking.
The good thing was that it felt like I knew every single thing about him. We talked ALL the time...our communication level was very very good. I think you know when the time is right. Trust me, if you feel comfortable you will know it. If you are having any doubts then don't do it!! I didnt have any doubt at all. Good luck!! |

I met my first online girlfriend in person, but yes. Take your time, it will be more meaningful when you two do encounter each other.

I agree with Joyce, What the hell you waiting for
Go for it girl |

Well...I think if you've talked on the phone and you both have good communication, then it shouldn't be too confusing. There might be apprehension, but there shouldn't be too many doubts about making the effort to meet up somehow.
This quote came to mind when I saw your post: "We regret the things we don't do more than the things that we do." Just do it! |

Bay is a wise woman.
Jump in the deep end. Meet in a safe, public place and just go for it. |

personally i'd wait for atleast a month, sorry but i've met people faster than that and it was disasterous and a few others i've waited too long and all contact stopped.just going by my own experiences though
