Is a dogs nose supposed to be cold or hot? my dogs nose has been hot for the past two nights...and I am wondering if she is sick

A dogs nose is supoose to be cold and wet.

aawwwwwwwww , puppy has a fever....
their noses are usually cold an wet ,

what if its warm and dry?

she has lo been sleeping real hard dreaming jumping kicking she is a year and a half.

sounds sick, see a vet.

ooops it's a myth if it's hot or cold or whatever my friend works for a vet and thats what i was told

I guess to just be sure I will get her checked out! my poor baby

If she is energetic otherwise when she is awake then she is probably fine.

The temperature and moisture level of a dogs nose will vary throughout the day. Your dog uses its nose to help cool itself, so if your dog is hot then it will sweat (and lick) its nose so that the evaporating moisture helps cool it down. If you touch its nose at this time it will be cold and wet. If your dog feels like its at the correct temperature then it then its nose will feel dry and warm. It is however unusual for a dogs nose to be hot and dry, this is sometimes a sign of illness.

smart thinking Bright Eyes...you know your dog better than anybody...if she's acting sluggish and has a warm dry nose..get her checked...
