Topic: Anybody got their CCNA or CCNP? | |

I've been in the IT field for 10 years but have never got any certs. Never felt I needed um. But I think now I do. Anybody took their Cisco exams?

Hey Quoting,
I don't have my CCNA however, I do have my JNCIA(Juniper's easier version of the CCNA), as well as My CompTIA Net+,Sec+,and A+ I am however very familiar with Cisco, (B.S in Computer Networks), which all labs were Cisco based. As far as what cert you start out with...that varies drastically on your experience. First...you can't take CCNP directly, having a CCNA is a prerequisite for that Cert. However, if you have 10+ years of Cisco experience, you may want to think about studying for the CCIE(either route or Service Provider(SP)) but that depends on your particular field of experience. The nice thing about the CCIE is that there are no prerequisites for it...but you definitely need to know you stuff inside/out and backwards. Traditionally you're supposed to go CCNA > CCNP > CCIE But I have know a few(select) people that went straight for CCIE after studying for 6 months or so(It's actually pretty rare, but doable) |

Hi there I currently hold a CCNA and CCNP in routing and switching. I really want to pursue my CCIE but have be unfortunate to get into the networking field.
I have been applying for some time but I guess I cannot find the role I want. Been working as a Systems Engineer for over two years. Need some people who are keen to get to the CCIE level in Cisco Certifications. |
