How often do people think lusting over someone we meet online is true love? Love is a different issue and very important to the concept of true love. But, I think LOVE and LUST go great together and that is the way I would like to feel about my man.

So, to me, if I lust over a potential lover, that is something good but that don’t mean he would be compatible to me for a serious relationship.

People on dating sites see a pic of someone and they go googlyeyed and think they are in love. They contact the other and the feelings are mutual, chat, e-mail, phone each other, and promise to meet but only to find, all they really have is a hormonal response. Not the reality of who they are to make anything real happen or a compatible match.

Think about it, are you really in love?

Yes easy to love a flower, car, house, the moon, tree, blah blah blah lol but not always the case with a human male..lol

Love is to be felt and some action too and not always about lusting someone.

How can anyone really be certain they are in love .... love is so intangible. You certainly can't be in love with someone you are chatting to by computer.

You can find potential, you can share interests and perspectives, beliefs and desires, but at the end of the day, when we're in here, we are considering our responses before we send them, we can phrase our response just right, so how can yoou be sure the person you think you have the potential to love, isn't just writing what you want to hear, the way you want to hear it. You may be honest and open and yourself, but there is no guarantees that everyone else is doing the same thing .... and that's where the problems starts!

God I hope not ... what will the children think?

A little off topic dont you think?

Perhaps not - perhaps this is what we were talking about the whole time - pity one of us isn't a bloke!

You just can't really fall in love "online". People who think that it's possible are fooling themselves and setting themselves up for disaster. The internet is a great tool to meet potential "dates" but that is all.

To fall in love, atleast for me, you have to know everything about a person and that includes body language, character, interaction and so on. That is something that you can't get from an online perspective.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I doubt it.drinker

laugh Methinks the children know what's what, it's us that have got it tangled up.

I wouldn't know true love if it bit me on the butt....well, not internet wanna-be love. laugh

Well said sincerman51. That's sort of where I was trying to get as well (aside from the general chit-chat)

Love is so enormous, you cant be sure anything is real if its not in 'real-life'
