seriously looking is someone devoted to finding that special someone
being open is someone not necessarily looking hard, however if it falls into place they are in a place to start a relationship

Sometimes I wonder if I even care what it means!

I view them differently ...

seriously looking = seeking ...consciously and with effort with the specific intent on a relationship.

being open = allowing ... going about living life without seeking a relationship but if an opportunity presents itself then open to exploring that.

There is a very different energy between seeking and allowing...

for some just being open is also seeking.
seeking to embrace life. openly.

being open is the widest possible search pattern.

Thankyou Sherrie.

That is how I veiw it also...

To be 'seriously looking', to me, adds the intent..and possibly agenda, and a fairly rigid set of pre-requisites...it feels almost a narrowed down judgement method of being 'ready' for a relationship. To be seriously looking feels to me, to be an assesment and a fairly rigid approach.

Whereas 'open to a relationship' is as s1ow described....

"for some just being open is also seeking.
seeking to embrace life. openly.

being open is the widest possible search pattern."

Allowing the other, any person one meets, to 'just be', no agenda, no assesment...a gentler method of meeting people, and feels less mercenary than the other term to me.

Maybe there are other translations:

"seriously looking" = "I'm NOT ok being alone"

"being open" = "Kiss my arse I don't need to settle!"
