Seems you better be worried about what has been hitting today before the results from Patricia even hits~~~

I'm in Fort Worth we have been hammered all day.. Got home no electric finally got it back on but lots more rain has hit.. It was pouring again not long ago here..

I have not seen it rain this hard since a month or so ago when even Houston was getting a beating... And more to come... Lots of areas of Dallas is flooding.. And several places in Fort Worth has already been hit..

It is pouring again here now...whoa

My sympathy and prayers to everyone in Patricia's path.

I sure hope people will take all the warnings seriously because this storm is going to be more than anyone can really imagine.

Getting the necessary emergency documents in water proof packaging and an evacuation plan in place.

It certainly promises to be a very difficult time for many people.

And I believe this is only one of many storms to come up the west coast of the continent this season so I hope people are preparing and thinking ahead region wide. .

Heard it has hit land.. I feel for those in Mexico where it is hitting the hardest... I sure hope all those that are in low lying areas do listen and get to safer ground...

That wouldn't be a good idea.

Anyway, a person who is in Dallas now could easily drive north on I-35 to get out of the area.

frustrated

Jeeez...
Persons currently in the DFW Metroplex area, now have enough time, to walk at a slow pace out of harm's way of the hurricane that is now attacking
the west coast of Mexico.

My heart goes out to the people of the
of effected areas of Mexico.

Hopefully you are right about it slowing down when it makes landfall but the volume of rain could do a lot of Damage in Texas also. And they are already flooding.

What concerns me more is the mass exodus from Mexico when the economy down there takes the hits that it should from this level of natural disaster.

It will be really interesting when the "tourists" that have managed to get stranded down there start demanding to be evacuated with/without documentation once they have been stranded further inland.

Hopefully they don't end up "hostages" in some of the areas of Mexico where the rich hotels don't provide security. Then we are going to have a political nightmare of epic proportions.

They say Patricia ish one of, if not THE, strongest hurricane on record. I'd board up my windows with 3/4 inch plywood and move all my valuables that could be damaged by wind and rain to a high, and assumably dry, location in the house at the very least. Then... I'd follow the advice above about hitting I-35 and getting north for a few days. :/ Weathering an F-5 is not something I'd have on my bucket list.

I just drove to Dallas.
Mostly, because I can.

Looked around, no sign of the hurricane.

To get to Dallas from Puerta Vallarta / Mazatlan, the hurricane would have to travel more than 1,500 miles across land.

'If', Patricia manages to maintain even cat 1 hurricane strength after traveling that far inland, it'll be a first in recorded history.

'If', the remnants of Patricia manage to reach Texas, I doubt the storm will even rate tropical depression.

Hurricanes love the sea, it will most likely bank northward, and skim the west coast.

Again, thoughts and prayers for all, in the effected areas.
