Never had a moment of empathy for child molesters. I'll never be able to wrap my brain around the concept of finding small children physically desirable in any way shape or form.

Since the legal system is pretty much in universal agreement that these people can't be rehabilitated, save future victims the grief, and just execute those who have slam dunk convictions.

Life for controversial convictions due to police/prosecutorial errors that could be reversed on appeal or evidence 'discovered' at a later date.

The world has become a ridiculously unsafe place for our kids vis a vis the issue of sexual predators, and it needs to change. I recall as a kid traveling alone in a big city, on mass transit, to sporting events or to meet a parent.

I also travelled alone at night at aged 8 or 9, and never gave it another thought. Today? A 10 year old, alone on a subway, coming back from a hockey or baseball game would likely cause the parents to become a front page news story the next day.

So killing child molesters? Where do I sign?

I never had any empathy either.
And they are ... EVERYWHERE & I really do mean that. The stats are staggering for rape, child molestation & incest. And those are just the reported & convicted cases.

Unless people actually check the data, they have no idea. And as a planet we are making it WORST, by being too tolerant of criminals, cultures, religions, laws (lowering age of sexual consent, less jail time, removing all sodomy laws instead of just for adults), mandatory sex education at a young age, media & sexualizing children.

WE as a planet, are setting them up... Voluntarily.... Because God forbid we offend the feelings of another adult.

I can only speak to western culture here, because I hesitate to merely trust media regarding what happens in other cultures

as a rape survivor, I have never felt it should be a death penalty crime,, Im still alive

however, when it comes to children I think the media can make things seem more gloomy to sell stories

case in point, I remember one summer, within the last decade, it seemed to me that every other WEEK there was a story about some little girl being abducted,, so naturally, my mind thought 'child abduction is increasing',, however that couldn't have been further from the truth,, child abductions had been steadily DECREASING for decades, even though the media happened to be reporting about them more often

I would gamble its the same with molestation of children, I imagine its MUCH less common than ever before,,in my opinion, because sexual preferences themselves have become so protected and stigmatizing of sexual desire has been nearly forbidden

this is not to say, that those with sexual desire for children are no longer stigmatized if it is publicly known they have this desire, its to say that adults are not stigmatized for having sexual outlets, like porn and cyber sex sites and adult telephone lines,, where they have other OUTLETS which can be private and no one will dig into,,,

they can not have sexual porn on their computer, but they can still have a grown woman PRETEND with them on a telephone, or a cyber site

I believe these resources help a lot, and I also believe that the unnatural desire stems from a lot of other emotional issues that people are getting help for earlier on,,and again, without stigma,,,

Did anyone look up the number of offenses committed by a predator, before they're caught, the first time?

Just in the U.S. alone, a sex offender will commit between 5 and 7 offenses before they're caught.
That's one victim, victimized numerous times. Or numerous victims.

Rehabilitation has proven ineffective.
The recidivism rates are too high, to entrust rapists and chomos being placed back into society.

The 'ye have offended. Go, and offend no more approach, just doesn't work.

Interesting its horrible in India but not in israel talmudic law its not a crime to have sex with child under 3. study shows over half of the children in israel have been molested. I'm sure pointing out this Fact makes me anti semitic. If u ever hear of a child rape in israel I'm sure it will say the child was 4.

It is also true that they almost always know the victim, are the same race, & plan it in advance.
Castration doesn't work either, physical or medical/ drugs.
If they can't use their penis they will resort to an object. ANY penetration of ANY kind... Is rape ( legally & morally)
Rape is a crime of violence & control NOT SEX.
Child sexual attraction is only in about 25%, where they actually believe they 'love' the child...

There's a difference between my logical self and my emotional self in this.

Emotionally, I favor using road grading equipment to "punish" child molesters.

Logically, since I have seen too many cases of innocents (or at least relative innocents) being named as child molesters, who were not, I oppose radical action. Permanent prevention of repeat crimes would be a good idea, though I am flexible about how to arrange that.

not being political u posted about what happens in india. It happens within belief systems. Muslim, talmudic. Its not just a sickness. It is sick but it is allowed in some societies. I'm not condoning it at all.

also, in not all cultures is 'marriage' about the sex
