Topic: Businesses Closing Doors Due To $15 an Hour Minimum Wage | |
---|---|
So basically a small ma and pop sandwich shop in order to employ three people will have to earn at least 100 an hour just to cover wages and expenses...hmmm..a national franchise could pull it off but I think a lot of small businesses are screwed... the Local Franchise-Holder would still be in the same Boat as any other Small Business! |

Amazing how those who won't work for a living in the first place, think that raising the minimum wage is a great idea.
Of course, those leeching from the teat of taxpayer largess, don't care if the economy is destroyed. |

So, you aren't posting any FACTUAL information, just the usual hyperbolic threats? Okay. "" Twohig added that the company and its many franchisees are also "anxious" about minimum wage hikes that are set to go into effect across the country. In New York, for example, a $15 an hour minimum wage for fast food workers will soon be phased in over the next few years."" http://money.cnn.com/2015/10/01/investing/dunkin-donuts-store-closings/ Boy, I bet you feel like a dlck now.... Ya. You are STILL posting THREATS, not factual information. So no, I still feel like someone who calls for facts, not threats and imaginary crap. |

And if a "ma and pop sandwich shop" isn't selling enough sandwiches to make 100 and hour, they probably won't need to employ three people to begin with. |

Circular reasoning (Latin: circulus in probando, "circle in proving"; also known as circular logic) is a logical fallacy in which the reasoner begins with what they are trying to end with. The components of a circular argument are often logically valid because if the premises are true, the conclusion must be true. |

Again, if businesses are forced to raise the minimum wage, they will make up for it in cuts elsewhere...or raise prices...or create 'robots' that don't frick up am order in the first place. Especially smaller businesses. These are MINIMUM wage jobs originally meant for teenagers and college students....and theyre most always part time. Get another parti tme minimum wage job to go with it or educate your damn self and get a better job. But hey, we all know libs want every damn thing given to them on a silver platter.....thats evident by min wage workers in Cali recently who were blthcing about too many hours cutting into their govt benefits. Sorry, the burgers they flip aint worth $15.00 an hour. I'm out...subject is old and beaten to death. And Argo, I see ya back there following me around...I'm gone, you can post more crap about me now |

I get hat you're saying about the money having to come from somewhere but between 2004 and 2014 the prices have gone way up and there was no massive change in minimum wage. Doubling in some states is huge but the workers have 'given the execs raises' higher than the rate of inflation or gas prices. Sure COG has gone up a penny or two here and there but it's been 10 if not 20 fold for the loyal customers. Especially in places where there are no grocery stores. Rent utilities taxes(overhead) went up but the stores themselves don't grow. The buildings are the same size they were 10 years ago unless they hired third party contractors separately... All the money trickles up for those who obviously don't need it., the workers and customers, without which these chains would be toast, are paying it because they have no choice. Mom and pop's have higher overhead because they aren't buying in bulk like the chain stores. It was bad in the 90s when a slice of cheese was 10-15 but now it's around 40-50. The COG for a burger drink and fries is about $2 with overhead minus payroll so where is that extra $7 per meal going? Per meal (1). A rural chain with regular traffic may serve 4-5000 customers a day anywhere from 2,500 to 6000 meals. Thats a lot of profit when your employees make $7.50 and are limited on hours so they don't get Benefits or overtime. Raising the minimum wage (not necessarily to $15 per hour) wouldn't hurt their bottom line enough to close 100 stores. These bastards have been cheating the hell out of their employees and customers for decades. |

Six to eight dollars for a typical "sandwich" at most local places, unless it's a really crappy sandwich, add in a drink and chips and you're around ten bucks. Not many restaurant workers get insurance paid even in part by employers. Rent and "additional expense" are fixed costs and have nothing to do with labor. |

I think the french fry maker should get 2500/hr and the person that puts pickles on the burgers should make at least 3000/hr...
