Topic: Paris Hilton - Humanitarian | |
---|---|
This was posted on the net today lol. Just a couple of paragraphs from an article about Paris Hilton wanting to leave a mark on the world lmfao, I think we already seen enough of her dont you? She is planning a humanitarian mission to Rwanda. Wtf is she playing at? A mark on the world? Hmmm anything to recover a lirttle lost public image eh haha.
:) The 26-year-old a hotel heiress said in June that she was a changed person and vowed to shed her party-girl image after leaving jail where she served three weeks for violating probation in a drunken-driving case. "Before, my life was about having fun, going to parties -- it was a fantasy," Hilton told Newsweek magazine, opting to speak to the news-focused journal rather than a celebrity magazine. "But when I had time to reflect, I felt empty inside. I want to leave a mark on the world." |

its good for people to want to change and learn from their mistakes. only time will show if she has truly had a change of heart who knows she has the oppurtunity to change the world if she wanted to with the resources that she has.

That's true, except she probably doesn't care about Rwanda. Until her agent mentioned it to her she probably didn'nt even know where it was on the map lol. As usual, it's just a trick to regain popularity. Forgive me for saying that like she was popular in the first place hahaha

She probably doesn't have the Linda syndrome, yet. Linda Syndrome is a phrase used largely within the pornography community to describe adult film stars who seek acceptance in society by repudiating their past career.
The term was coined by Hart Williams, who also refers to it as "Conversion Syndrome" or "Paul On The Road To Damascus." Linda Syndrome is named after porn star Linda Lovelace (Linda Boreman) of the porn cult classic, Deep Throat, who began attacking the industry and espousing alleged wrongs against it via biographies and lectures. Boreman gave testimony to the 1986 U.S. Congressional hearings known as the Meese Commission on Pornography during the Ronald Reagan era. With the publication of Ordeal in 1980, Boreman joined the feminist anti-pornography movement; at the press conference announcing Ordeal and making her charges against Traynor public, she was joined by supporters Andrea Dworkin, Catharine MacKinnon, Gloria Steinem, and members of Women Against Pornography. She spoke out against pornography, drawing from what she stated were her own experiences of coercion and abuse, for feminist groups, at colleges, and before government hearings on pornography, provoking an intense controversy over both her charges and her objections to the pornography industry as a whole. Pornographer and writer Hart Williams coined the term “Linda Syndrome” to refer to women who leave pornography and repudiate their past career by condemning the industry. In 1986, Boreman published Out of Bondage, another memoir focusing on her life after 1974. She testified before the 1986 Attorney General's Commission on Pornography in New York City, stating that “When you see the movie Deep Throat, you are watching me being raped. It is a crime that movie is still showing; there was a gun to my head the entire time.” Following Boreman's testimony for the Meese Commission, Boreman gave lectures on college campuses and elsewhere, decrying what she described as callous and exploitative practices of the pornography industry. |

Rwanda?
I need to inform everyone that a mistake has been made. Upon further review, Paris is NOT going to the country of Rwanda. She didn't even know there IS a country named Rwanda. She said she was going to see Rwanda. She thought Rwanda was the "girl" Jamie Foxx played on In Living Color |
