Are you looking for Love or Companionship?

People are complex things. Dating can be perplexing with all its implications.

There are those that seek Love on these sites. Everything they do pertains to their quest to find Love.

Some seek companionship. Someone to share their lives with. A best friend.

While we all seek Love many people don't understand that for Love to grow it must be nurtured by companionship.

I have loved in my past and it never started out as Love. First we had to get to know each other and learn each other.
I have been a companion with someone I didn't grow to love. It happens. The important thing is that we tried.

I believe, many people on dating sites have no idea what Love is. They think if there are no flip-flops in their hearts or sparks with a touch that Love is not there.

We could all learn a thing or two about Love from our pet dogs. Dogs exist for those they love. Your dog loves you when you are happy and when you are angry. Your dog is excited to see you come home and wants to be near you when you are. But we are not dogs. We are complex, thinking people that are deluded by things as we see them.
We twist reality to fit our concepts and Love takes a hit.

Companionship gives us a chance to gain the reality of another from experience. Every person is a new experience. Trying to quantify a person based on your experience of another blocks Love. It can delude you into thinking Love is there when it really isn't. It can also blind you to Love that is there. Companionship with someone breaks down these delusions and shows you the reality.

People change, everybody changes. You may say you will never change but the reality is that you change everyday. When those changes occur you can accept them or deny them.
Companionship changes both. If it changes to Love you both grow in the new you that the companionship enhances. It can also change you to make you incompatable. It doesn't mean that you can't Love, it only means that you do not love that person.

Are you seeking Love or Companionship?

I agree with this. I am content and complete in my own life with the great friends I have. I also didn't believe that love could be there without the companionship or anything that goes with knowing someone..

I know I want it all.. I want the best friend, the lover the playmate,the rock... the list is endless.

I want to think of him as my first thought in the morning and the last thought before I sleep at night and all the points in between.
I want the stars, butterflies, the quiet moments you can only get when you really know and trust someone.

I want the lazy afternoons when you don't have to talk, just quietly each doing their own thing in the same room. Words aren't needed.

So yeah as I said I want it all

When I wrote this though to be honest I was thinking about what Pancho and I have... I also have to clarify..I not only want this in mylife but for me to have a relationship I have to have it..

Love: Bills are paid, we have this much left over, what do you want to do tonight?

Companionship: My daughter's family is coming over for a visit, please try not to stay in your room the whole time.
Love: My daughter's family is coming over, they love you.

Companionship: Well, I like this music
Love: After this song lets play something we both like

Companionship: Goodnight..
Love: Lets go to bed baby, Sweet Dreams my darling. Waking to you will be the best part of my day!
