The Christian holy book, applies to nonchristians... for how? ...lol..duh...when Christians read it they need some one to point at..so I would say target practice... |
|

And just saying I am not picking on Christians or any other faith... I just found the topic interesting...trying to figure out who's left if the top five became nonexistent...

Hmmm...kinda go with these...but no.1 kinda falls in with "don't judge,..lest ye be judged"...hence to each their own... judge not lest ye be judged is one of the most misinterpreted versus note that it does not say,, judge not (PERIOD),,, it says judge not LEST ye be judged knowing there will be a judgment day, the idea that simply avoiding judgment will prevent it is silly (for a Christian) so(for a Christian) this verse is to be interpreted as instruction not to be hypocritical,, we ARE to judge, but judge with consistency if it is wrong,, it is wrong even for us,,, if it is right, it is right even for us,,, |

The Christian holy book, applies to nonchristians... for how? I can think of several things that apply simply by being human that are in the Christian holy book like, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal,,,,etc,,, |

Everyone has a choice as to which path they will take! You can either practice good or righteousness or you can practice evil or unrighteousness! It's your choice however the consequences are yours alone to bear! Do unto others as you would have others do unto you! If that would ring in the hearts of people, this world would be a much better place in which to live! If you cannot love your fellow man whom you have seen, it is impossible for you to love God whom you have not seen. Nevertheless, if you do not believe in God then you believe nothing applies to you. So you can murder, commit any kind of immoral acts etc and feel totally justified in whatever you do....that is, until the law of justice steps in...be government law which was based on a moral ethical code...based on what God stipulated in his law or moral code. Where do you think the moral code originally came from? This code was written not for our detriment but to help us!

I can think of several things that apply simply by being human that are in the Christian holy book like, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal,,,,etc,,, Except that Exodus 20:13 doesn't say, "You shall not kill." Instead, it says, "You shall not murder." |

Actually, the first one reminds me of "Render unto Caesar."
Not that there's anything wrong with that. |
