Couldnt the cop have ordered a small black cup of joe and hit the restroom while waiting for it?
a loud voice … that the bathroom is for paying customers only.” AS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY; WE WILL
I can't remember the last time I was in a Starbucks...but it nothing to do with a cop needing to use a restroom.
NEVER STEP IN A STARBUCKS ANYMORE OR BUY THEIR PRODUCTS AT ANY GROCERY STORE!!!!!!!! |

Lol Starbuck's folded....
"" A police officer in Philadelphia was denied access to a restroom at Starbucks. His account of the incident has gone viral, prompting an apology from the company. The complaint made by the officer caught the attention of another police officer, who posted the grievance to Starbucks' Facebook page. From there, it was shared thousands of times. The officer involved explains that he went into Starbucks to use their restroom, but was told by an employee that the facilities were for paying customers only. According to his account, "the young blonde liberal behind the counter," smirked and loudly asked him, "Are you a paying customer?" As he was on his way out, the employee told him about other restroom options nearby. The officer regards her behavior as evidence of a larger trend. He writes, "It's hip for this generation to berate and totally disrespect cops in front of the public and praise cop killers as the heroes of they're time." Starbucks has since reached out and extended him an apology. The company also released a statement noting, "This customer's experience was not consistent with the welcoming and friendly environment we strive to create for everyone."" http://m.aol.com/article/2015/09/16/starbucks-apologizes-to-police-officer-who-was-refused-restroom/21236872/ Now the libs will boycott Starbuck's |

the dumbing down of America

There are some in our society that deserve special treatment. Police and firefighters come to mind as public servants who risk their lives without great financial reward. IMHO, Starbucks should officially tell their stores that the policy for restroom use 'quietly' does not apply to uniformed police, firefighters, military, or similar citizens who have the duty to protect us all. The policy of "no public use" of restrooms is to keep street bums away from the stores. This past weekend I was at a Starbucks where a bum came into the store and screamed obscenities at the worker who had asked him to leave earlier. It was a really ugly scene. Two cops came in a few minutes later and were outside talking to the bum when I left. If you see no need to give special consideration to a cop. He/she may not feel like giving you the special consideration of risking their life to save your azz. Most do anyway. thats not a special consideration, thats the job they are trained and paid to do and they arent all facing special danger every day , depending upon their location,,, they are one of the SAFER professions we have,,, |

How ridiculous and petty of that Starbucks IMO. Telling a person to chase a Lou down the street. Not very smart either, the point is to encourage law enforcement to walk in? A free cup of coffee or use of the facilities to officers goes a long way in keeping the place safe from trouble. Whatever, I'm sure that cop finally managed ok. Starbucks? not so sure. was this starbucks employee a manager or someone with AUTHORITY to overrule policy? if not, it wasnt petty at all. with other paying customers there, its not smart to show preferential treatment to someone who isnt,, |

I honestly believe this could have been handled way better than it was.
First I am going to take the barista which should never have spoken like that in a professional setting period. The police officer that chose to post it on facebook.. {# 5993 reasons why I am not on facebook,, twitter etc}. That flamed the drama, there was a better way to handle this. Now as to what their policy was or wasn't she had not right being rude she is in the hospitality industry good grief. Now as to whether or not law enforcement, first responders, fire fighters deserve a bit more courtesy why not?? I understand the medical profession does wonderful things but they don't get shot at on a regular basis. Somewhere the assumption that it is okay to take potshots verbally or literally at police officers has raised the bar a bit in my mind. There appears to be a trend starting and frankly it is disgusting. As someone says they chose to get this training and they are choosing to do this. So does that mean we respect them less for doing a job that I don't want to do and so many others don't want to do? Just because there are a few bad police officers should they all be tarred with the same brush not in my book I judge each person by their own merits.besides that I thought tar and feathering went out long ago. The only other profession I can think of off the top of my head that willingly puts their life on the line is a Soldier and they do it everyday and that is why in my world I give them utmost respect. As far as shopping Starbucks nope I have my own favourite barista and they fix my sugar free breva just fine. |

I hope that particular Starschmuck's franchise, had the decency to fire the idiot who refused to allow a uniformed officer use of the facilities.

But that's their policy, only customers can use their toilets. so because she's a cop, the rules shouldn't apply to her? when they do to everyone else!! I will continue to use starbucks as normal. I don't think they have done anything wrong, that's there rules. There was a bathroom down the street, so why didn't she use that one in the first place like everyone else does, or when they said no, she should have just used the other one and no issue should have made of this. I didn't expect special treatment when I was in my uniform. Yes it is petty on both sides, but rules are rules whether we like them or not. If they give her a special treatment, wont everyone else expect it in uniform? and the general public? Oh and that's probably why the customers didn't say anything. I should say, if there WASNT a toilet down the road that she could use, my opinion would be different. That was a dick move plan and simple and bad customer service. I know many places who have locked bathrooms for customers only but let non customers use them. |

Not that I ever have been, or ever will be, a customer at starschmuck's...
Not just because, I don't drink coffee. But, also because, starschmuck's is a known haven for libtards and other dirty hippies. If, I'm a paying customer in any establishment, and have to ask for a key so I can take a piss, it'll be the last time I'm a customer there. |

I guess it all boils down to respect, and it's a sad thing by all the comments here that people don't respect Law Enforcement. It actually makes me sick, less then 1% are dirty cops.
A perfect example, I had to deal with Sheriff's Deputies on four occasions today. One of the instances when they were concealing I know it was going to be a bad day and it would be a fisticuffs. I called dispatch before the crime was committed and asked if they had a free Deputy, as soon as I identified myself to them I had one there in less then five minutes, but that's not the end of it, a couple minutes later two more show up and the crime hasn't even been committed yet! This person was still in loading a duffel bag and had eyes on them. The three Deputies waited hiding outside the doors waiting for me to badge the subject (in California and Nevada we are the arresting party since we observed the crime, the police don't step in unless you attempt the private party arrest first). Just as I thought it went south really quick, I could have taken the person but why risk it? Law Enforcement officers remember things and you develop a good relationship with them they go out of their way to help you. |

I make sure they get treated with respect and give them special treatment and it has saved my a$$ a few times, especially when I tried to take my life last Thanksgiving, it was a Deputy who kept doing CPR until the Paramedics arrived, he basically kept me alive. How come you don't hear about that on the news? Oh yeah I am white and the deputy was white and it also portrays Law Enforcement in a good way and the Obama Administration doesn't want that. |
