Britty,

"A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel" Proverbs 1:5

I love that verse! Thank you for posting it.

Spider, your breakfast sounded really yummy, mine was a strawberry muffin. I have started eating yoghurt a lot more with fruit the last few months, its tasty, and I was surprised how satisfying (filling).

Spider, I am still pondering Donnar's thoughts about Israel/Palestine, from a biblical standpoint what do you feel could be done to bring peace to the area.

I am thinking if I believe one group of people should be allowed to live in peace in any particular area, then I should want the same thing for everyone else?, as long as they are willing to live in relative peace also. At the very least come to a compromise of getting along. Let's face it all over the world there are groups of people who are not necessarily happy with another but they do not feel the need to totally kill off a whole race of people.

Perhaps you and the GUYS can come back soon and 'discuss' this.

We girls will be waiting. (with peach yoghurt, coffee and banana muffins, now how could you resist that)

Britty,

I believe that the treaty that the antichrist will sign will be a peace treaty between Israel and Palestine. There will be peace for 3.5 years, then the antichrist will declare himself god in the rebuilt temple. The antichrist will destroy with peace.

Daniel 9:27
==============================================================
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
==============================================================

Daniel 8:25
==============================================================
And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Good morning to all in the Chat room today. Im sorry it took me so long to come on in, but I was having my cable all redone so such is life....giggle. God made it pretty clear in his covenant that his chosen people will have the land as surly as their are stars in the sky.....and he also proclaims that He God would die if this convenant was not fullfilled.....And we can look up to the heavens and see that He still is in control. So no worries about any other country or people right now. God and only God knows his plan and we just had to have peace that He is the Divine Creator with the devine plan that NO ONE will hinder.

I will also be doing Daily Devotionals. I Hope you all enjoy.

October 17th Courageous Love

I took courage, for the hand of the Lord my God was upon me, and I gathered leaders from Israel to go up with me. Exra 7:28

How appropriate for today.

He who is afraid to own Christ has but little love to Him. as the sun expels fog and vapors, so divine love in a great measure expels fear. Does he love God who can hear His blessed truths spoken against and be silent? He who loves his friend will stand up for him and vindiate him when he is reproached. Love animates a Christian. It fires his heart with zeal and steels it with courage.

Many, being drunk with the wine of prosperity, when the honor of God is wounded and His truths lie bleeding, are not affeted by it. If we love God, our hearts ache for the dishonor done to God by wicked men. To see the banks of religion broken dowwn and a flood of wikedness coming in, if there be any love to God in us, we shall lay these things to heart.

If anyone has seen the movie "The End of the Spear" you might get some lessons from it that could apply to the conflict in the middle east today.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-5:4 (NIV)

9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:

10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!

11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?

12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Advancement Is Meaningless
13 Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to take warning. 14 The youth may have come from prison to the kingship, or he may have been born in poverty within his kingdom. 15 I saw that all who lived and walked under the sun followed the youth, the king's successor. 16 There was no end to all the people who were before them. But those who came later were not pleased with the successor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Ecclesiastes 5
Stand in Awe of God
1 Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong.
2 Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few.

3 As a dream comes when there are many cares,
so the speech of a fool when there are many words.

4 When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.

That vow scripture is always a reminder of WHO we are in relationship with. A great and sovereign God of the universe, who's mercy and grace we do not deserve. How blessed we are.

Hi LTW, glad to see you here.

We live in a world that is constantly changing and there are many uncertainties that cause us stress. We are not certain what tomorrow will bring, but we have HOPE because our God is
UNchanging.

Our security is in Him.

Question for those that would like to offer their view on the topic:

Some students of scripture believe that the Bible gives no grounds for divorce or remarriage. Others suggest it allows for divorce under some circumstances but does not allow remarriage. Others say if the divorce is justifiable, the innocent party should be allowed to remarry.

Any thoughts on this subject?

TheLonelyWalker's photo
Thu 10/18/07 06:18 PM
deep question there.
as far as the catholic church if you get a divorced, u can't remarried, and if you do so you can't have communion.
As most of you know i'm far of an orthodox catholic, I'm even pro marriage of the priests.
That is the reason why I don't see why somebody who gets a divorced can't remarry, I also believe that denying the communion to these individuals it's undignifying.
Because if it's a matter of sin, it would be more sinful to allow these people to keep a marriage which is destructive for the spouses, and even worse for the children.
