Is there a way to text somebody's cell phone from a computer?

only if there cell phone is enable to get text messages and they have a screen name, then I would say yeah. If not then I'd say no.

I remember using YIM a few years ago to send text messages. Idk if they still have that, I don't you YIM anymore

You can send them an email that they will get as a text message, i.e...cingular cell phones use (555)555-5555@cingularme.com as they're email address. I guess find out who they go through as a provider and use the same setup. Good luck!

some phone service sites let u text their customers for free from their site...find out the person's phone carrier and see if the site allows it...good luck

I guess I should of been a little more specific. I am in Canada and the provider is Bell.
And I know that Yahoo has a Text messaging feature but i am not sure if the person I am texting has to be a Yahoo member as well or not. |

WELL THAT'S DIFFERENT, LOL. i GUESS THE OTHER PERSON HAS TO HAVE YAHOO IM'S SETUP ON THEY'RE PHONE AND HAVE A YAHOO ACCOUNT AS WELL. OOPS SORRY FOR THE CAPS, I'M NOT RETYPING THIS I'M TOO DAMN LAZY, HAHA.

@ Brian. I do that to sometimes with the CAP button. And then I also just say screw it. If the other person does not like it then they can go text a bush...lol.

If you know who their service provider is, you can go to their web site and send a TM from the web site, e.g., www.sprint.com
