The women say they were refunded their money and everyone was very pleasant with them at the Saint Helena Station.

But then they saw a post, which has since been removed from the wine train's Facebook page. It says, in part, "Following verbal and physical abuse towards other guests and staff, it was necessary to get our police involved."

That post touched a nerve.

"And that is absolutely not true, we never touched anybody," Johnson said.

Maybe if they could handle their wine, they wouldn't get kicked off and would understand they didn't mean physically touching a nerve! laugh

It was very nice of them to give the ladies their money back.

The thing that got me was their first reaction was to say they were asked off the train because they were black. That it was racist. That was their first statement, starting this whole thing rolling. I read this article in a few newspapers. One went as far as to say " Black woman thrown off train because white woman complains"

We have all seen groups of people of ALL nationalities get loud and obnoxious in places where that is permitted. In places where it IS affecting other peoples right to " quiet enjoyment". And at those times we have seen them told to stop, told to leave or we wished they were told to stop or leave because they were ruining OUR time.

But right away the race card comes flying out of the pocket.

I would love to see the racial make up of the other people they have asked off the train in the past 12 months ( average of once per month). I would bet whites were the majority.

But that is not going to make the papers.

They were asked... 3 times.. to keep it down. And frankly, that is 1 more time then I would have afforded any group. And I would not give them a refund or a apology.

grown ups acting stupid.. plain and simple.

Was it them or the media who implies it was rascist?
Perhaps we will never know the truth. But they do need to own their behaviour.
Now they will be known as the Infamous-sistahs-bookclub.

"We still feel this is about race. We were singled out," Johnson told KTVU.

Aug 23, 2015 Members of a book club on a wine tour in Napa Valley were kicked off of the train. ... but the women say it is because they were black. CBSN' ...

Here is just one of the headlines I saw. From what I have read so far, that was their first claim... that they were thrown off because they are black.

Whipped that card right out.

I have seen people thrown of N.J. transit trains ( after being warned). But I never saw anything in the newspaper about it. Leading me to believe that these women contacted the media.

Maybe they should read up on " rights of others to also enjoy what they paid for" in their weekly book club meeting.

My point exactly.. Doesn't matter what race you are if you are being loud and rude to others it isn't good business sense to allow your other customers to suffer for a few...
Next time behave accordingly and everyone will have a good trip

Switzerland: Special trains for Chinese tourists
August 28, 2015

http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-34085270

Noisy throngs of Chinese tourists disturb those who visit Mount Rigi in the Alps in search of peace and relaxation, reports the Swiss newspaper Blick.
They crowd the corridors while taking pictures from the train, there has been rudeness in packed carriages, and some even report seeing tourists spit on the floor, the paper says. Visitors from Asia have helped to bring the struggling local railway company back on track, but, according to its chief Peter Pfenniger, "their strong presence is a challenge".
Almost half of the foreign visitors to Mount Rigi come from China following an advertising campaign there, and the number is growing. "Rigi seems to be firmly in Chinese hands!" Blick exclaims.
To help avoid any possible bad feeling, special trains have been laid on for tourist groups from Asia. Toilets are now cleaned more often, and signs have been put up "showing how to use them correctly", the paper adds. In September, the number of train services for Chinese visitors is expected to rise to about 20 a week.
This has not gone down so well in China. According to the Global Times newspaper, Chinese netizens criticised the Blick report, pointing out that the increasing numbers of tourists from Asia were a good opportunity to help Switzerland's economy.
The Global Times also quotes Mr Pfenniger as saying that Chinese tourists are still very welcome and will not be prevented from boarding ordinary trains.

I know that all too well. I was laughing at the touch a nerve line and then the next line was they never touched anyone. Touching a nerve is a figure of speech, not literal
