Topic: Limiting who can see your profile by age | |
---|---|
Help, I would like to limit who can see my profile by age. I have sometimes clicked on younger women's profiles over the years and would get the profile was deleted. This usually happens when they were in the forums or "who's online'. Now that I am starting to get serious on this site. I hope that I can limit the viewing of my profile just to the age group that I am in. Between 48 and 55. Hey I am 50. I hope that Mingle2 has that feature. I have upgraded to the Premium membership and have noticed that most of the ladies that view my profile are far away and very young. I sincerely doubt that a younger girl would go for a senior citizen. After reading the horrible spelling and grammar, I suspect that the profiles are not from people educated in the US. I have also noticed that I get a lot of matches from women that in no way I would be compatible with. I have set my filters and that does help in eliminating most messages. I just hope that there is a way to filter out viewings of my profile by age group.

To my knowledge you can't stop who is viewing you. You can filter who can contact you...
Glad to see you out here and things being brighter that you are wanting to start jumping into the dating pool... |

As was stated above you can limit who you get e-mails from but you can not limit who can view your profile. All profiles are open for anyone to see.
You can go here and set your mail filters... http://mingle2.com/inbox/filters There is a limit on how far away that can still contact you within e-mails...50 miles is the least you can pick in filters.. Hope that helps.. Site Mod Kristi |

Somehow they're getting through. Mine is set for women 35 to 50 within 50 miles. I'm in South Dakota and got an e-mail from a woman (deactivated account) in Oklahoma yesterday. I think her age was 31.

I think her age was 31. Just remember if it is someone that you have received a e-mail from in the past and you answered those filters will not matter. Once you have made any contact with them they can keep contacting you.. If you have never had contact with that person then please use the report system to let them know. Those reports go straight to Admin. Mods can not look into those issues.. Site Mod Kristi |

OK, good to know. No, I didn't contact her, so that's why I was kind of puzzled.

I will let Admin know so they can look into the situation.

Thanks TexasGal. Kind of bummed. I was on another dating site and you could only talk to women that were either 7 years older or 7 years younger. Talking to a lady who was 8 years either way was not permitted. I sort of didn't like that site, because of too many restrictions and the extreme pressure to upgrade. I came back to Mingle, much more fun. It would be nice though to limit all contact from an age that I do not in reality wish to contact. That includes nudges and matches as well. In all I guess it is no big deal. It is really easy to ignore. Still like this site and I am still happy that I upgraded to the Premium membership.

As I stated above you can only limit who can e-mail you not who can view you. Nor can you limit who chooses to Match you, Nudge you or send a friend request. At this time they have no intentions of limiting in those areas...
