Winning the lottery is such a rare event, people say that you have a better shot at getting struck by lightning, which is already a rare event alone. (Hold on to that thought). So, when you win the lottery, it is definitely a rare occasion and will likely not happen again.

Unfortunately, people have been losing out on their earnings for decades. Take Vivian Nicholson for example, whose husband won about £152,319 from a football pool. Vivian was known for spending her husband’s money like mad, even after he passed away. After his death, Vivian went into a crazy spending spree and quickly ran out of money. She became penniless and isolated from her friends and family. Speaking of spending all of your winnings in one place, 16-year old Callie Rogers won about £1.9 million pounds. She spent her money on a bunch of houses, luxury vacations, and a ton of plastic surgery to maintain her looks. Callie ended up having to move back in with her mother with her two children from a deadbeat ex.

Whether they spent it all in one place, or made a series of bad decisions, these people had the world and financial stability in the palm of their hands, before they let it slip between their fingers, and for that reason, it’s not really fair to say anyone in the Top 10 Stupid Lottery Winners of All Time were “UNLUCKY.” Since I am sure they would beg to differ, and claim they were very unlucky (if nothing else, for being born a moron), to put their misery in perspective I followed up the video with the Most Unlucky People of All Time!

I think some people just lack the skills to manage such a large sum. Too bad they don't provide mandatory education to the winner at the onset so their life will not get ecclipsed by it.

It would be overwhelming to go from basically nothing to that of a lottery winning.

It's very sad actually.

i agree... but most all those winners never had any money to begin with, or just druggies... 8 times out of 10 when someone thats never had anything gets a large sum of money like that, they have no idea what to do with it...

Winning vast amounts of money does not mean you know how to handle such and experience. Sometimes success is much harder to deal with that what most of us know in spades; failure and at least struggle. Financial skills is much harder when you don't have the self dignity that is quickly stripped away when people quickly resent you, lie to you, exploit you, and judge every decision you make. It can be a very lonely and frightening situation to be in.

You don't need to win a lottery. We will use crowdfunding to get you a good psychiatrist.

true, but when they start buying 80,000 dollar bottles of wine, and stupid things such as that, there's only one to blame...
