Realize it has happened to others
pick yourself up dust yourself off and move on my friend On the other hand, if it happens over and over, maybe take a good long look at yourself. |

Generally I just try to make a graceful fade. I know I can not be right for everybody so there are bound to be times I am going to not match someone and it is not a negative for either of us.
I personally would rather someone tell me up front if they don't have interest than be wishy washy. Or worse just try to be polite and hope I grow on them, and/or send mixed signals that it is mutual and I waste my time and emotional energy. Or just get bored and dump them or they be so obnoxious over all that I wonder why did I even make the effort. It amazes me how many people totally disregard what you tell them and try anyway. How desperate do you have to be to date someone who clearly says you are not their cup of tea? I never have really gotten how people are willing to make a pretzel out of themselves for a relationship. Or want you too. |

Like PacificStar said, exit gracefully. Keep your dignity and don't stalk or harass her.
If it was a relationship then work through your anger, denial, sadness or whichever emotions you experience and eventually you will realize you need to live life and move on to your future.... |

Except the fact that it was not meant to be & that you do not need to know why.
You are 19, there will be many kinds of rejection. But believe me, the more you love God & the more you love yourself, the easier life is. Good luck to you. |

List: 1. night vision goggles 2. rope 3. duct tape 4. tarp or plastic bag 5. shovel Now, at night, so no one sees you, go into the woods and symbolically bury your resentment and anger, that should help you get over the rejection. What? What did you think I was going to say? Oh, you people are sick. |

Take up boxing
Its amazing how powerful your punches are when you see their face on the bag or trainers mit You get rid of anger. Learn a new skill and get fit. Or move away and start again |

how to deal with rejection ?
IMO "how to deal" is not nearly as important as "how do I deal/am I dealing with rejection now, and is it bad or hurting me, what would be a better way for me to handle it?" But then it gets even more subjective. I mean personally, I handle it in different ways. I handle being rejected by an internet stranger that just never responds to my first email far differently than I do being rejected by someone I've dated for a year. Asking "how to deal with rejection" implies there is a universal standardized method that you can force yourself to follow for all rejection situations. IMO that doesn't exist. |

I don't even worry about it anymore, I can't control others feelings, so I can't worry about it. If it happens, it happens.

I think I was most vulnerable to the pain of rejection in my earlier days as a young art student. I vividly remember, feeling absolutely-"Cut-OFF-YOUR-EAR-KIND-OF-GUTTED" whenever my art work was found to be wanting or substandard in the opinion of those individuals, with glowing credentials, reputations & designations of importance in the art world. However as "Art" is such a subjective field of study; it was not uncommon for great clashes of opinion to occur on a predictable & regular basis between prominent, professional, & successful artists & critics about,literally- "EVERYTHING";} However before one gained a more objective overview pertaining the "fickleness" of the profession; those "hits[rejections]" just kept coming with devastating frequency.
I'll never forget what my mentor said to me as he caught me, quietly weeping in some secluded corner, "Whaaaa-whaaaa-whaaaaa!', wailed the baby. Hey, if you can't take a little sand in your eyes; get the hell out of the sandbox!" * For some reason, his words induced, a marvelous & comical visual of the aggressive, juvenile-acting-out behaviors of a bunch of kiddies & their sandbox antics in my mind's eye. I remember beginning to actually laugh about it & my own tortured emotional response seemed to be, "way-over-the-top" & inappropriate for such a comically absurd & mundane activity. And-no one was going to bully my azz out of the sandbox unless it was MY choice to leave. After all if there is a chance that one could create a most wonderful sand castle; what's the big deal about some "sand-in-the-eyes"? |

I absolutely, do not have an answer for this question.
I've never been rejected by anyone I was truly interested in. |

How to deal with rejection?
DONT DEAL WITH IT. MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ONE. See how easy that was? Good luck! |

Brilliant, I heard the other day at an Art Gallery where I work...'I am an artist, I am allowed to have a meltdown'. as a response to rejection. My response was 'do you create your art to please people'? That bought her back to the crux of it all..... |
