many men treat their woman with disdain especially in Africa. They are relegated to the back ground, only remembered when the need for food or child bearing arises. Some of them are even battered for daring their male folk. Some times I wonder if there are laws protecting them because their assailants are rarely punished. Another crime against the dignity of the women and even female children is rape. It hurts to hear of a woman being raped and even more horrifying to hear same happening to tenagers. Are these people humans or animals in human skin? Ask yourself a question, do I treat women with respect? Can any man boldly pray this prayer: may other men treat my sister the way I treat other women!huh? Use your tongue to count your teeth!

Rare do I chance to encounter threads such as 'this'.. ![]() ![]() Not sure that should be a compliment, considering the subject matter, and what was shown in that film. But hey, whatever floats your boat. |

![]() As 'they' say: Variety is the spice of life.. In similar terms, do I say 'Any subject-matter may be observed from different angles/perspectives'.. Entirely depends upon the perspective with which, an issue is being dealt with.. However, thanks for that 'inspiration' for keeping my boat afloat! ![]() |

HOW DO YOU TREAT WOMEN
Depends on my relationship with a specific woman. Otherwise I treat them like everyone else. many men treat their woman with disdain
Many men revere women for no real reason. especially in Africa.
Many men treat men, woman, and children with disdain, especially in Africa. Some times I wonder if there are laws protecting them because their assailants are rarely punished
Laws protect no one unless people decide to accept responsibility for their behavior in the absence of laws. At best "laws" support behavior, laws don't compel behavior, or at least they aren't supposed to. Ask yourself a question, do I treat women with respect?
I treat people with what forum users seem to believe is respect but is a deferential social facade on a daily basis just to avoid conflict so I can go about my day with as little annoyance as possible. Opening doors or holding them open extra for longer. Telling them "fine, how's yours?" when they ask "how's your day goin'?" Other than that, no, I don't treat people with "respect." I don't admire strangers simply for existing, or having a vagina, or having less experience and height. -a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. That's the definition of respect. Simply existing as a man, child, or woman, completely unknown to me, doesn't cause me to feel respectful towards them. At best I offer deference. But that's solely for my benefit. Can any man boldly pray this prayer: may other men treat my sister the way I treat other women
Sure. Most men can. Lots of people seem pious and truly believe they aren't being a hypocrite or sanctimonious. And if prayers meant anything or actually did anything then I think 2000+ years of prayer would have ended war, poverty, rape, child abuse, hunger, self improvement, and a million other things that people have been praying for...for the past 2000+ years. |

Use your tongue to count your teeth! as the old saying goes: pray in on hand and chit in the other, and see which one fills up first... don't pray, just do... |

It's in every country
In NZ we have a no domestic violence policy. We talk about it more openly. There are organisations where people can go to to be safe. I know other countries do the same If you are not treated like a king or queen then it's time to go. Men are not the only ones that use violence. Women do it too. It effects everyone. |

not just physical violence but emotional also...or mental abuse
I see/hear this almost daily when I walk down the street or sit in restaurant or do my grocery shopping couples that no longer seem to realize that they do this to each other for they have been doing it for so long but that tone of voice they use...the cutting, insulting remarks the derision, the disrespect... sound more like two people that hate each other and yet...they are married |

A woman is like you child in the house. You need to love her, protect her, guide her. There is nothing like emancipation! !! It just brings confusion
