Talk about gay marriages is a thing of the past, at least in the US.
Now, if same sex marriage is not illegal any more, what about group marriages?

Part of the world I live in, Polygamy is legal and in fact quite common.

The US being the hub of human rights, what are your thoughts about Polygamy and Polyandry? Is it time to legalize group marriages too?

If they are all consenting adults...I don't care who marries. For me...I don't share. Too much work and drama for me

Honestly...who someone marries (as long as they are consenting adults) doesn't mess with my world. I don't care and think the government is way too involved in everything. If some guy can afford multiple families....great. Just as long as they don't collect welfare or any of those programs. Wanna have several wives and kids...afford them

I watched that T.V show about the guy with 4 ( or so wives) God only knows how many kids.... I'll pass.

IMO if he wants that many wives and kids...they need to support them. I don't want my tax dollars paying

In Islam you are allowed to keep up to four wives provided you treat them equally. I have seen in Qatar, where I am presently working, locals do have more than one wife. Often, in the car or in a mall they hang around with two abaya clad women and half a dozen children.

I was a single mom of 1 and I busted my butt to take care of him. I won't pay for someone with a lot of kids. Don't have kids if you aren't ready to provide. That is my only problem...whether it's polygamy or otherwise

What about family marriages? Brothers to sisters, mom's to sons, dads to daughters? As long as they are all over 18?


My thoughts regarding this issue take into account the entire legal system and how it interacts. Rather than just "human rights! Let's just shoehorn in what we think is 'right' and hope people don't commit fraud or discover loopholes in the current legal system!"

Spouses get special rights, benefits, and considerations.

It would be extremely lucrative if one girl could marry 200+ middle easterners named Albisis Quaeda, get them green cards, and into the social security benefits system.

Sure.. let's pay for more children, because daddy don't & have more women saddled with children & bitter & even larger & more complex, & dysfunctional families.
