Courage is having the strength to do the right thing when it is so much easier to do the wrong thing or do nothing.
Wisdom is knowing what the right thing is. Cowardice is knowing what the right thing is but not doing it. Ignorance is not knowing. Stupidity is not being able to learn. Cooking is what Metalwing does best! |

We can find logic or an understanding of what we fear. What may come is an uncertainty, far scarier than that we can predict. ..and far more unpredictable than what we couldve imagined |

Sometimes.. I think I have a courage and sometimes I think I lack courage being In a particular situation.. How do you know if you have courage or lack courage? How does it works ? How do you tend to play along with it without you being over reacted?

There is a tradition moving back to Ancient Greek philosophy for counting courage or fortitude as one of the four cardinal virtues, along with prudence, justice, and temperance. ("Cardinal" in this sense means "pivotal"; it is one of the four cardinal virtues because to possess any virtue, a person must be able to sustain it in the face of difficulty.

Lady, "Last: If you are who I think you are (just in case) I love you more. Stop worrying about other people who are not even there when you needed them. They are old enough to fight their demons and fears. Respect them enough, that they have a backbone to fight what they deemed necessary & worth fighting for. If it makes you feel better, then pray that those people will find your God. Stay cool, and raise a family that you always dream of. Continue to write..and publish it girl..you have the gift, you know what I mean". -------------------------------------------------- You last paragraph - pretty brave, pretty good, pretty smart, pretty wise. Encouraging as well. She is la belle femme - the author of our soul, the light that shines in a world, the light that shines In all our souls, she's the light for us all, to give, to enjoy, to hold, to share in good times and bad times. The anchor of "Friends, past, future and present thread"... :lsmooched: |

Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
http://youtu.be/c-3vPxKdj6o Grew up in a small town And when the rain would fall down I'd just stare out my window Dreamin' of what could be And if I'd end up happy I would pray Trying hard to reach out But when I tried to speak out Felt like no one could hear me Wanted to belong here But something felt so wrong here So I pray I could breakaway I'll spread my wings, and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky And I'll make a wish Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget all the ones that I love I'll take a risk Take a chance Make a change And breakaway Want to feel the warm breeze Sleep under a palm tree Feel the rush of the ocean Get on board a fast train Travel on a jet plane Faraway And breakaway I'll spread my wings, and I'll learn how to fly I'll do what it takes till I touch the sky And I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun I won't forget all the ones that I love I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change And breakaway Buildings with a hundred floors Swinging 'round revolvin' doors Maybe I don't know where they take me But gotta keep movin' on Movin' on Fly away Breakaway I'll spread my wings, and I'll learn how to fly Though it's not easy to tell you goodbye I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change And breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sun But I won't forget the place I come from I gotta take a risk, take a chance, make a change And breakaway Breakaway Breakaway |

Brave - Sara Bareilles
http://youtu.be/PohdSnhqlvg You can be amazing You can turn a phrase into a weapon or a drug You can be the outcast Or be the backlash of somebody's lack of love Or you can start speaking up Nothing's gonna hurt you the way that words do And they settle 'neath your skin Kept on the inside and no sunlight Sometimes a shadow wins But I wonder what would happen if you Say what you wanna say And let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave With what you want to say And let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I wanna see you be brave I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I wanna see you be brave Everybody's been there, everybody's been stared down By the enemy Fallen for the fear and done some disappearing Bow down to the mighty Don't run, stop holding your tongue Maybe there's a way out of the cage where you live Maybe one of these days you can let the light in Show me how big your brave is Say what you wanna say And let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave With what you want to say And let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave Innocence, your history of silence Won't do you any good Did you think it would? Let your words be anything but empty Why don’t you tell them the truth? Say what you wanna say And let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave With what you want to say And let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I just wanna see you I wanna see you be brave |

------------------------------------ "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Around The Ole Oak Tree" I'm coming home I've done my time, Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine, If you receive my letter tellin' you I'd soon be free, Then you'll know just what to do, if you still want me, if you still want me. Tie a yellow ribbon `round the ole oak tree, It's been three long years, do ya still want me? If I don't see a ribbon ,round the ole oak tree, I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me If I don't see a ribbon `round the ole oak tree. Bus driver, please look for me `cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see, I'm really still in prison, and my love, she holds the key, Simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free. I wrote and told her please tie a yellow ribbon `round the ole oak tree, It's been three long years, do ya still want me? If I don't see a ribbon `round the ole oak tree, I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me, If I don't see a ribbon `round the ole oak tree. Now the whole damn bus is cheering and I can't believe I see A hundred yellow ribbons `round the ole oak tree. ------------------------------------- Ninoy Aquino's Love Poem for Cory I have fallen in love with the same woman three times; In a day spanning 19 years of tearful joys and joyful tears. I loved her first when she was young, enchanting and vibrant, eternally new. She was brilliant, fragrant, and cool as the morning dew. I fell in love with her the second time; when first she bore her child and mine always by my side, the source of my strength, helping to turn the tide. But there were candles to burn the world was my concern; while our home was her domain. and the people were mine while the children were hers to maintain; So it was in those eighteen years and a day. 'till I was detained; forced in prison to stay. Suddenly she's our sole support; source of comfort, our wellspring of Hope. on her shoulders felt the burden of Life. I fell in love again, with the same woman the third time. Looming from the battle, her courage will never fade Amidst the hardships she has remained, undaunted and unafraid. she is calm and composed, she is God's lovely maid. |

And that is the way I see it. And it will always turn out for the better in the end. Some time to do the right thing, it is a hard thing to do.

ChronicLiar:
There is someone here in Mingle that I like. I like her spunk. But every time I come across her posts, I have this feeling... I get curious. I clicked the link of how many posts she has and read her older posts. What I can derive from her posts is she is beautiful. Smart azz at times and very intelligent. I could say her wit is almost legendary. If I will be asked 2 words that will remind me of her, it will be YOUTH AND PARTY. Join my fan club, baby. |

On a serious note: Not skirting the issue and taking it head on - is for me another way of defining courage. (My way of saying that, with your post..you honor this thread in itself. It took a lot of courage) Your post reminded me of my past mistakes here in mingle. In a way, it makes me more determined to opt for prudence and a a quieter way to search for my Mr. Neverbealone. That in itself is also my way of honoring this thread. Finding courage to move on despite the blunder instead of just quitting. I have kicked enough dust in the board ma'am. Unintentionally if I may say.. So what do you say we move on from here? On a lighter note: I'd like it very much if I can join your fan club.. but I want to be the secretary..im more efficient along those lines This may sound absurd but I say lets take courage to have peace and rock on |

The story of two elderly people
This is the story of two elderly people living in a Florida mobile home park. He was a widower and she a widow. They had known one another for a number of years. Now, one evening there was a community supper in the big activity center. These two were at the same table, across from one another. As the meal went on, he made a few admiring glances at her and finally gathered up his courage to ask her, "Will you marry me?" After about six seconds of' careful consideration,' she answered. "Yes, Yes, I will." The meal ended and with a few more pleasant exchanges, they went to their respective places. Next morning, he was troubled. Did she say' yes' or did she say' no'? He couldn't remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. Not even a faint memory. With trepidation, he went to the telephone and called her. First, he explained to her that he didn't remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the lovely evening past. As he gained a little more courage, he then inquired of her, "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say' Yes' or did you say' No'?" He was delighted to hear her say, "Why, I said,' Yes, yes I will' and I meant it with all my heart." Then she continued, "And I am so glad that you called, because I couldn't remember who had asked me." |
