well then some nurse started to tell me all the "bad" things in the flu shot and how it is the most recommended shot not to take. she could have said this before i took it. and the secretary stated her pedi recommends not to take it.

nurjoyce, don't really know if it works, that's why i don't take it, i'd rather chance having one flu without the shot then a definite one with it

Sorry, but I have the opposite effect with the flu shot. I get bronchitis every year. If I get the flu shot, I still get the bronchitis, but it isn't as bad, I usually won't miss work, may not have a fever with it. But, darn, if I miss the shot, the bronchitis will kick me to the curb and I will have a fever and be sick as a dog and miss maybe 4 days of work with it, even had it turn into pneumonia one time. Gotta say I am FOR the shot.

I would wonder if you may be sensitive to something in the shot, allergic to eggs or something else. I have heard of people getting a mild case of the flu from the shots before. Sorry you are not feeling well.

The only time I didn't feel well when I got the shot was when I got the flu shot and the pneumonia shot at the same time, then I did feel punky for 4-5 days, but that was the only time.

Feel better soon.flowerforyou

Marie, have you had the pnumonia vaccine? I got bronchitis every winter too and sometimes it turned into pnumonia. Haven't had it since i had the shot. I think its good for about 10 yrs.

Also, I remember one year a Doctor who took the flu shot had to close his practice because he was so sick for like 14 days. They say its not from the shot, but, that you had already been exposed to the flu and the shot made it worse. I still take the shot, but, in January. No probs.

Oooh, and sorry you are sick Joyce. I hope you feel better real soon. Have you taken ocillocoxunum? (sp?) It helps you get over the flu faster.

<=== Gets sick as a dog when I get the shot. See, I get the military version of the flu shot... ahaha the military uses a liquid in a tube, and they stick it in your nose and shoot the shot up your nose and you have to snort it... Crazy huh? lol
