Topic: Entitlement | |

I don't go around believing that I'm entitled to just about anything. I'm humble enough to recognize that. I know I'm only entitled to certain things, like sick pay, or having a place of my own, or to go for a walk. Some people have mental illnesses that give them delusions of grandeur, making them think they can have anything, as long as they have power over everyone else.

Entitlement is about receiving something you didn't earn from the government. Whether you "deserve" it or not, is a matter of opinion. In a society, based on money, you have the option of getting more education, working harder, moving to where the jobs are better, or raising kids. In a free society, your options are many. In a socialistic society, your options are fewer. In any society, the pie is only as big as it is. It is never as big as some wish it were. No nation has ever survived who outspent it's treasury. |
