Dare I ask... ?
Why, Mom333, are You even bothering to take-up any discussion on the General Religion Chat Form if we are to assume You're so adamantly Atheist ? Don't You 'prefer' to have a logical reason to believe in a Divine Being ? Why would You waste-your-time with this Forum ? |

I like science facts too.

Plus the ones I know just think the religions of today are stupid and that's it. They don't need to go any deeper because they believe in science (facts) science is continually evolving ealry science stated 'facts' that the earth was flat, based on the evidence they had at that time, new evidence is continually being discoverered, and books revised, wasn't that long ago that the 'cell' was considered the smallest building block, but as our technology advanced we were able to look deeper and realize that the cell is much more complex than we first thought, but still that didnt stop early science from saying that the cell was the smallest and that was a fact, it was simply a fact based in the evidence they currently had. I like science, as a Christian I wish more people would study science because the more we understand about our earth, the more knowledge we can gain about its creator, I know people like to think that science is an anti-thesis to religion, but I believe just the opposite, you get to know an artist by studying their paintings, if the earth is indeed God's creation then the more we study it, the more we will get to know it's creator |

Well said Isaac... !
Science's advancements are relative to what's current. |

Mom333, all I'm saying is I don't really know of any Atheists who are actually content to be so.
Most would-be Atheists want something else ! Case-In-Point... You're requesting a collection of writings that take some of all of various religions. |

Okay, are You (Mom333) happy to believe there is no God ?
Are You (Mom333) content to be a Random Event that is somehow self-aware ? And-last-but-not-least... Are You looking forward to an state of oblivion when Your existence cesses ? (No Disrespect Intended In Asking These Questions, Just Really Curious) |

Now your last question back to you. Do you fear death is that the reason for your belief's I am not comfortable with the idea that after I'm self-aware I'm not to be aware. What is more that state of oblivion doesn't answer the here-and-now. |

I still maintain the majority of self-professing Atheists are actually Agnostics, but they don't know the meaning, often. An Agnostic wants to believe in a Divine Being, but disquieting doubt persistently makes them predisposed to not believing in a Divine Being. This sort of vacillation get exhausting to maintain, so saying they're Atheists is easier. i beg to differ most agnostics do not discount the possibility but do not believe. as a rule they are less dogmatic than atiests |

To be perfectly honest, I'd be to cowardly to not believe in God.
I could not function in this world. |

So, You're saying an Agnostic does not discount the possibility of a Divine Being, but generally doesn't believe ?
|
|
|
|
