You better be careful. for years never had any success on this site. I changed a couple of requirements in my filter and then whammo! I have been getting tons and tons of replies. One day I had 4 messages and 7 or 8 matches. The matches are from women old enough to be my daughter as well as the messages. Almost all of the messages either have horrible spelling and or grammar. And all the matches are from women really far away. I have been getting extremely more messages and matches in a week than I have gotten in a couple of years. Looking at my profile pic you can tell that I am no Babe magnet. So most likely the women responding (if they are women) are looking for something else. Other people have warned me about this. I think that I hit a certain alogorithm or sequence triggering a response. Women who seem too good to be true may just be a mirage. I think that Mingle2 is just an online version of real life.

From a young age, that is before I started dating I told myself I won't go for age gap greater than 7 years. That is because in my country pension age was 60 for women and 65 for men. I always thought of dating as a step to marriage, so I would not like to keep working for many years when my husband is no longer working....a mismatch.

I think for 'fun people' yes there's a lot of young women looking for older men, and vice versa.

If it stays just friends, or fun and light, or genuine shared love, it would be good.
But it is hard not to turn in to an old fool when 'just friends' becomes unrequited love. And the heart drowns the brain, and defies all reality and logic, making things worse.

Trusting your heart to a young lover, hoping they never tire of you and leave to greener pastures when age sets in, is a worry.
I'd enjoy a younger, but get too nervous when approached, in anticipation of inevitable loss and pain in the end. I talk myself out of it, thinking "if women my age aren't interested, what does a young one want, they must be dodgy" (scammer etc), and run.

Some traditional cultures involve younger with older as a teaching and learning thing. A young man has an older first wife to teach him, and when she is old, he takes a young wife and looks after both.
