I wonder if anyone has ever thought of doing it by becoming a marriage counselor and then interviewing the couples to see how they might behave in a marriage and extrapolate from that.

What exactly does that mean?
Because when you were born "yourself" was just a screaming bag of appetite that wanted immediate gratification.

As an adult, you're (general you're, not you specifically) a less loud screaming bag of appetite wanting immediate gratification and going about fulfilling it using what your parents and society teaches you as (theoretically, based on a lot of bias):
1. An acceptable way to go about it.
2. A way to go about it that offers the greatest success.
3. Does the least amount of harm.

So...what exactly does "be yourself" really mean?



How exactly do you live your life to the full (fullest?)?
That presumes you know where the "full" level is.
Like putting the pedal to the metal, you know where the metal is and where the pedal will go no further.

So, do you always know your limits? Are you always testing your limits? Are you always pushing your limits?
If your life is spent focused on being the fullest, of finding, testing, pushing, and making sure you are at the fullest, then how could you ever start focusing on another person?
At best you live your life to the fullest and hope someone just comes along and catches up.

And even if they did, how are you sure that you are at your fullest and can't go any further?
Do you reject the guy, or just move beyond them, to constantly test them in order to determine if they represent your limit?
