both are fairly equal in my eyes

the only difference being in government involvement

at this point, I am on the wall about whether I am required as a christian to involve the government as I feel they have willingly disregarded The Lords design and definition of marriage,,,

I am at a point to consider if a vow(like pastors take or nuns or priests, where government involvement has nothing to do with it), that is sincere between two partners and God and at least two witnesses will suffice,

You would have to get Elvis involved as well.

What could be more romantic than getting hitched in the Elvis Chapel, Las Vegas ohwell

I see you are 20 & Hindu in India. So I can't help but wonder if this is a religious question or not ?

But my response is ,marriage no matter if it is religions, cultural or generational question.
Simply because women have nothing to really gain , & no rights or legal protection & often not even property. And any children born are of course born out of wedlock. Nd may not have rights either.

Same sex or straight either one should live together first. I think it's best to get the leveling right before you tie the knot. At least by the time your married you have got used to him leaving his socks everywhere and he has got used to you needing a good cry and lots of chocolates once a month lol. It's best to know if you can actually live together first i think but that's just my opinion.

You couldn't care less but there are a lot of benefits that you lose as an individual and as a family unit if you don't get the official marriage license.
