Here's what I know for sure about her condition. Broken femur, 3 or 4 inches above knee. Tib/fib fracture..same leg. Amount of damage to knee not determined yet. Radius ulna fracture, bone ends protruding..left arm. Various lacerations needing stitches. The accident was caused by two dogs attacking her horse. The horse had to be put down. Thanks again everyone. This is terrible news... Come back soon Sitka
Holy smokes... I'm concerned for Sitka of course but I'm heartbroken at the loss of her horse

Rains and I are both deeply touched by all the well wishes. I've read them to her by phone, as they come on. Right now she is being taken back to her home town. She can see with one eye, and the other is starting to open, so soon she will be back.

I think he means a more local hospital to her home. it sounds like she could have had a compound fracture, Im not 100 percent because I didn't ask pancho to elaborate, but if it is that it will require surgery, and even if its not, with those injuries they wouldn't send her home yet, I hope not. |

Surgery is scheduled for the morning.
Her leg has to be looked after first. Then her arm, if there are no problems with being under anaesthesia. Her broken ribs may be an issue there. |
