Farrakhan: No such thing as moderate Islam While speaking at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan said, among other things, that moderate Islam doesn't exist. It was the first stop on his "JusticeOrElse tour" in which he discusses plans for the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March this October. "What is moderate Islam? There. Is. No. Such. Thing. He also demanded President Obama apologize for calling Baltimore rioters "thugs." He seemed to regret having helped to elect Obama. "We voted for Obama and made him Pharaoh. He can’t speak for the Children of Israel," he said. "The criminals are in the White House, Congress, Senate and they have never been called thugs," he added. He also hit on another familiar theme. "America owes us (Blacks) big time!...We don't need a museum to pay the debt America owes," he said. The crowd applauded as he called for boycotts and economic withdrawal. He then claimed that America created ISIS and al-Qaeda. In an article published at Downtrend, Brian Anderson said Farrakhan "basically" called for blacks to "join an Islamic Jihad against America." "This statement comes off more of a threat than an anti-war sentiment," Anderson said. "The way I take this is Farrakhan is saying that ISIS and Al-Qaeda are going to take the fight to America, with the black Muslims joining in." "We have to be willing to lose our lives for a cause bigger than our lives," Farrakhan said. Anderson said this "appears to be a calling for suicide bombings." He then noted the irony of Farrakhan's speech being delivered in a Christian church. "Did I mention that Farrakhan gave this whacked out Islamic jihad rant in a Christian church?" he asked. "Does the perceived racism thing have such a hold on black Christians that they will allow a crazy Muslim to call for the destruction of America at the hands of radical Islamic terrorists in a house of God? It appears so." Among those in attendance was comedian Dick Gregory. I wish somebody from the State Department would explain why Louis Faraakhan isn’t listed as a terrorist. |

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of something that never happened. There wasn't even anywhere close to a million men who showed up for the march. Unless of course, the other 999,712 "men", marched in spirit... from the comfort of their couches at home . |

Similar to the radical imams who call for Jihad against America. I don't recall any other religion calling for death to other religions or races. |

Delicate and precise wording is appropriate here.
I believe there are good and decent persons on this planet that are Muslim. That's fine. The problem is, they seem to be the exception rather than the rule. What evidence do we have of this? When a Danish cartoonist depicted not Allah, but the prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his turban, the rioting in pan Islam was so severe that human life was lost. Over a CARTOON!! But Islam's reaction to the mass-murder of ~3,000 innocent Americans on 09/11/01 Islam's reaction seemed substantially more sedate. "All honors wounds are self-inflicted." Andrew Carnegie
I have NOT degraded Islam. ONLY Muslims could do that. And the violent sociopathic murdering Muslims do so by their conduct, and the non-violent Muslims do so by their silence. There may be a silver lining. But from where I sit, it looks like one huge grey cloud. |

where is pan islam and how many were involved?
there are billions of muslims, so I still think that qualifies as not the rule,,,,, and I doubt Pan Islam is the same as the Nation of Islam,,,, |

Depending on how you define "involved", most or all of them. pan- prefix

Excellent. My posted comment was: When a Danish cartoonist depicted not Allah, but the prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his turban, the rioting in pan Islam was so severe that human life was lost.
Over a CARTOON!! But Islam's reaction to the mass-murder of ~3,000 innocent Americans on 09/11/01 Islam's reaction seemed substantially more sedate. QUOTE: "All honors wounds are self-inflicted." "and I doubt Pan Islam is the same as the Nation of Islam,,,," mh
a) What is "the nation of Islam"? b) Is it recognized as a nation by the United Nations, the E.U., NATO, or any other well established international organization? c) What is its capital? d) What are the membership requirements? |

a) What is "the nation of Islam"? b) Is it recognized as a nation by the United Nations, the E.U., NATO, or any other well established international organization? c) What is its capital? d) What are the membership requirements? factual error is the conclusion that ALL billions of muslims were involved in the loss of life over a disresepctful cartoon it is also the conclusion that having a quote from ONE person is the same as showing that MUSLIMS As a whole reacted a certain way,,, as to the questions, they are all easily researchable A. The Nation of Islam (NOI) is an Islamic religious movement founded in Detroit, United States, by Wallace D. Fard Muhammad on July 4, 1930. The Nation of Islam's stated goals are to improve the spiritual, mental, social, and economic condition of African Americans in the United States and all of humanity. B. a nation doesn't have to be recognized by anyone, countries are self governing , but a nation is: is a tightly-knit group of people which share a common culture. A nation-state is a nation which has the same borders as a State. never said its a Nation state,,,,so it doesn't require recognition from any organization C. Since no group of people is required to have a 'capital' the question is irrelevant. You may be thinking about a country or a state or a city, self governing entities that have capitals D. I believe one can go to the NOI website and join,,,but since Im not a member, Im not sure of requirements beyond that |

"factual error is the conclusion that ALL billions of muslims were involved in the loss of life over a disresepctful cartoon" mh
Correct. But I did not make that assertion. It's widely reported that "Japan" attacked Pearl Harbor. But that doesn't mean every single living Japanese subject angrily brandished their agriculture implements and stormed our naval inventory. 100.0000 ...% is not required here to make the distinction. It's that the OVERWHELMING DIFFERENCE between the two public reactions; not simply by sampling an unrepresentative group; but by the broad character of the reactions. You see mh, when sampling human populations this size ("billions" by your account) on matters of judgement and preference, those assessments should: a) be based not on word, but on deed, and b) should represent what statisticians call the "central tendency", and not the rare or freakish exceptions. I never said it was 100% unanimous among every single individual among all the "billions" (your word). To the contrary. My exact words were: "I believe there are good and decent persons on this planet that are Muslim.
That's fine. The problem is, they seem to be the exception rather than the rule." Lm There is simply no comparison to the two reactions. The mass murder spree barely raised a metaphorical eyebrow. The cartoon literally sparked riots. Not just one or two, and not just one or two drunks blowing off steam in a bad part of town. These were numerous protests that were exceedingly well attended. And what this demonstrates is that THEIR religion is the higher priority over human life; by a substantial margin. And that is a very revealing insight not only into Islam, but also into Muslims. The sanity check of this assessment: - Narco-terrorists are wreaking havoc in Northern Mexico - The Israelis are running roughshod over the Palestinians - The U.S. has devastated the Peoples and cultures of the aboriginal Americans - The Catholics and the Protestants in Northern Ireland use walls to keep the groups separate - Boko Haram - U.S. federal government wages Drug War against its own People - etc. But are any of these as manifest in May, 2015 as bad, as deliberately horrific as what ISIL is doing? Beheadings? Tossing innocent victims off the roof of tall buildings. etc. There's an awful lot of ghastly stuff happening, on this precious blue marble we infest. But I can't name anyone, not the Mafia, not the Baltimore police force, not anyone, that is as deliberately horrific as ISIL, conducting its unfolding atrocity in the name of Islam. And if I were a Muslim, I'd be rioting about that! So where the %$#@ are they? |

Im curious if you live in a muslim majority country or if you just draw these conclusions based on the tunnelvision theory that if our media doesnt report it it isnt happening ?
when Hitler was rounding up jews,,, do you think the jews were protesting these actions or being reported as protesting,, or did they hide and try to stay safe? your error is in assuming silence automatically equals agreement, compliance, or even that we are made aware of any or even most of the times when there is something other than silence in another region of the world of those that are REPORTED to do these awful things,,they are an exceptionally small portion of the muslim population as a whole,,, |

No such thing as moderate Islam ..
A 'moderate' Muslim is not a true Muslim. Do you know that? |
|
|
|
I am no expert in Islam , but I am aware that there are different ,,,groups, within Islam that have slight differences in their beliefs
just like in Christianity,, we have different sects but, like christianity, I imagine you either are or you arent,, you cant be kind of (moderate) christian, you either are christian or you arent,,,and you can pretend to be christian to excuse horrible acts , in which case you are a radical,,, I don't know why other religions should be any different. |
