Thanks Blondey  perhaps Allah has multiple personalities or mohammed was having a bad day .. Either way .. i am pretty sure god spoke of loving one another and thou shalt not kill . Behind every cult there is a dangerous mind who seeks to control not through love or free will but through submissive obedience and personal adoration . I am sure there are exceptions and many who follow the religion of Islam do so with honourable intentions but my personal perceptions are tarnished by war bloodshed and injustice in the name of religion . I agree with all of the above. I would like to point out that there was a time when Christianity had much the same and in some places still do. |

Atleast Islam has overlooked the marketing strategies adopted by some other religions .. I.e. the practise of . Door to door knocking To spread the word of their prophet ... Like the Mormon religion .. Laughing .. Phew .. and Please don't knock at my door  I always invite them in. Then I tend to educate them on their own religion. It's amazing how little some people know about something they want to get you to believe in. I haven't had one come to my door in years.  Maybe I got blacklisted.

What do you know about Islam religion ? well i've met a few that follow the religion & its all about peace. it does not teach you to hate other religions...infact its a major sin to discredit other religions. terrorism, bombings & killing innocent is NOT what it teaches & the people who do that are not following Islam but their personal beliefs. The muslim prophet Mohammed taught to love all...even non followers & Never to mistreat anyone. its not about violence or anything & the amount of people in the U.S alone that have converted to it says a lot. if one really knew what it is all about rather then stereo type then all misunderstandings would be cleared. isl�m means peace....not violence or hatred or killings coz all that is against the religion |

You have not to generalizing Miss Blondy because this verses of The holy Quran was in private case that's is war between the prophet Mohamed PUH and his kins who wat to kill him and everybody follow him,so he just deffense of themselves ,you should read biography of the great Prophet PUH then you wil see the truth peace and love !

JS This is not the way to convince anyone, recruit anyone or gain any kind of sympathy or empathy... NOT in ' general religion'. General Religion is for EVERYONE. * MOST people ignore it. Especially the Faithful of their own religion* So your not teaching anyone.... Those who follow him are harsh to the unbelievers but merciful to one another" Quran 48:29 It is a religion that does not tolerate other ideologies And lacks respect for peaceful co-existence .. but on the bright side it does have the lowest rates of adultery :-) Morning Blondie Islam accepts that Judaism came first and was Followed by Christianity and Also accepts and reveres the Prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses and Prophet Jesus, just to name a few. Habeeb, what I do remember from my reading was how Islam honored the mother in the Islamic Quran - taught about taking care of the poor and that teaching was an important tool for everyone!
A little about what got me started on that journey was my interest in Buddhism and someone challenged me on 'what was the oldest faith and how we could prove it'! Sadly...while most Christians love to argue that the 'Faith Race' began with the 'OLD TESTAMENT'; that was pre-dated and loads of plagiarism from the scholars & teaching of Confucius and time lines have proven 'THE BIBLE' to be wrong! Long - long before the old testament was even a scroll hidden away in some jug - to be translated by more men and rewritten for the King James version of the Bible! |

Now...that's an interesting dichotomy; you asking a question based on what you've been hearing/reading from the 'MEDIA' and not from your own Christian POV from people that you might know! What was that lecture I got from you '?' about media biased information! That "Why is there so much violence in Islam?" can be applied to every faith written & known to mankind: Buddhism/Muslim/Islam/Hindu/Christianity/Inca's/Mayan's etc., etc., etc.,...controlling the masses and conquering the neighbors to enslave them has been the way! |

Abraham is a central figure in Islam, Judaism and Christianity. God promised Abraham and his decendants many blessings, including the "Holy Land". Being an old man he was worried about having children and he "jumped the gun" and had a child, Ishmael, from his servant girl. Ishmael's descendants are mostly the present Arab nations. Later his wife became pregnant and had Isaac, who had Jacob, who changed his name to Israel. The firstborn then is Ishmael from the servant girl. (illegitimate)? OR Isaac born from his wife. So who are the birthright descendants of Abraham, Arab's or Israel. The battle rages for thousands of years |
