I agree with all of the above. I would like to point out that there was a time when Christianity had much the same and in some places still do.

I always invite them in. Then I tend to educate them on their own religion. It's amazing how little some people know about something they want to get you to believe in. I haven't had one come to my door in years. Maybe I got blacklisted.

well i've met a few that follow the religion & its all about peace.
it does not teach you to hate other religions...infact its a major sin to discredit other religions.
terrorism, bombings & killing innocent is NOT what it teaches & the people who do that are not following Islam but their personal beliefs.
The muslim prophet Mohammed taught to love all...even non followers & Never to mistreat anyone.
its not about violence or anything & the amount of people in the U.S alone that have converted to it says a lot.
if one really knew what it is all about rather then stereo type then all misunderstandings would be cleared.

You have not to generalizing Miss Blondy because this verses of The holy Quran was in private case that's is war between the prophet Mohamed PUH and his kins who wat to kill him and everybody follow him,so he just deffense of themselves ,you should read biography of the great Prophet PUH then you wil see the truth peace and love !

JESUS CHRIST is NOT a prophet.
He is GOD on Earth & the one & ONLY Messiah. And left the / HIS Holy Spirit with us.
To Jews, he is yet come. & is also The ONE & TRUE- The Messiah.

Muhammad is NOT a prophet, by ANY Jew or Juedo- Christian view.
He was human.

ALL secs & denominations of Christianity ( RC, Protestant, Orthodox, etc), come from JUDAISM. And Judaism ONLY.

Habeeb, what I do remember from my reading was how Islam honored the mother in the Islamic Quran - taught about taking care of the poor and that teaching was an important tool for everyone!

A little about what got me started on that journey was my interest in Buddhism and someone challenged me on 'what was the oldest faith and how we could prove it'!
Sadly...while most Christians love to argue that the 'Faith Race' began with the 'OLD TESTAMENT'; that was pre-dated and loads of plagiarism from the scholars & teaching of Confucius and time lines have proven 'THE BIBLE' to be wrong!

Long - long before the old testament was even a scroll hidden away in some jug - to be translated by more men and rewritten for the King James version of the Bible!

From the little bit I have read about Islam, I have concluded this. Abraham is a central figure in Islam, Judaism and Christianity. God promised Abraham and his decendants many blessings, including the "Holy Land". Being an old man he was worried about having children and he "jumped the gun" and had a child, Ishmael, from his servant girl. Ishmael's descendants are mostly the present Arab nations. Later his wife became pregnant and had Isaac, who had Jacob, who changed his name to Israel.
The firstborn then is Ishmael from the servant girl. (illegitimate)? OR Isaac born from his wife.
So who are the birthright descendants of Abraham, Arab's or Israel. The battle rages for thousands of years
