A circle is drawn in the middle of the floor were Alex was reportedly told to sit for 1 1/2 hours, to earn classroom minutes. He told his parents the room is " Where bad children go to serve ISS ( in school suspension). When asked how often he'd been subjected to the room, Alex responded " Almost every day, once for 2 straight days" He asked for his jacket, the teacher said 'no' & said " It's sure nice to be warm" He was not allowed, snacks, bathroom breaks or exercise. The District defended the use of the "focus room" in a letter. The administrator says " Every school has one, across the country" School officials say , "The temperature of the room was not in intentional" On Friday the Texas Education Agency lodged a complaint against the District alleging faculty may have violated the " Texas Educational Code", naming the provision prohibiting educators from confining special needs children to secluded areas " containing less than 50 square feet of space. This seems extreme, obviously, but there has to be a point where disruptive kids need to be moved, so those kids that want to be able to learn free from nonsense can.
Until it is known what this kid was doing, it is hard to base any judgements on more than the article and pictures. |

thats cruel as hell, hes a little kid. no matter what he did he shouldnt be locked in a cold room and denied his jacket and denied food and bathroom breaks. there no excuse for that. what the hell is wrong with people. hes a kid for gods sake, kids act up it happens. to lock him in a cold room with no food and deny him bathroom breaks is just ridiculous IMO. i had in school suspension when i was in school, they made you sit at a desk in the hallway by the principals office. i was allowed to eat and use the bathroom and it was normal temperature. thats just plain child abuse.

I see this a clear case of child abuse.
I believe the teacher 'got off' on tormenting this kid. I believe the administration & school board is to blame & they obviously have TOO much power over people that can NOT afford a private education for their children(or that it is ' impractical' for them to be home or cyber schooled.). If this was my child, I would be in jail... because I would of seriously jacked this ***** up!

When you are in a classroom with special needs kids as outsider looking in you may see many things which.strike you as odd such as strong emphasis on rewards and punishers for behavior modification or seeing a child bouncing on a ball or standing at tall desk or wearing a weighted vest to calm down or using headphones. It is necessary at times to remove a child from classroom if he is out control and may harm others.In michigan spec ed rooms have two or three adults and a teachers aide would watch over the child but we don't put them in broom closets and certainly not for long amounts time

The circle on floor is some kind of power struggle bullsh*t on part of teacher but putting a child in an isolated area is not uncommon

Many topics have been out here with less than 16 articles. Of course only time will tell as in all things, what is really going on in Texas, public schools... everywhere. lol, if you say so... did you really think there were 16 reporters at this school covering this story? i personally don't see any abuse here... a child acts up, they need to be disciplined...they can't spank, so they should just let the child act however they want? school is also about learning to get along and follow orders as well as the schoolbook texts... sorry you don't see it that way, but children have to learn how to get along in society as well... |

and i trust "infowars" more than i trust any news i see on television. you put quotes on infowars as if they are some satirical news site that doesnt post any relevant infomation. i applaud them for posting $h1t that most other "news" sites are afraid to post.

Am I doing it right? lol Gonna lmao when its found out that the kid was being a lil $hithead......but wait, I forgot, we're jist supposed to be mad for no reason lol. Btw, the kid had to sit alone for awhile....big deal. I sure wont lose any sleep over it.
